Male Arrested for Assault
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 50 year-old Earl Orchard of 53 St. Georges Avenue East on the 15th of April at 8:30 pm at the police station and charged him with one count of assault. It is alleged that the accused was wanted for an assault incident that occurred on the 5th of April when he assaulted a male in the parking lot of a local east end business. The victim received non-life threatening injuries as a result.

Two Domestic Related Arrests
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 50 year-old male on the 15th of April at 6:50 pm at his residence and charged him with two counts of assault, one count of threaten death or bodily harm and one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance. It is alleged that on the 15th of April the accused assaulted his wife at their residence and threatened to kill her. At the time of his arrest, the accused was found in possession of some hash.

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 36 year-old female on the 16th of April at 11:20 pm at a downtown residence and charged her with three counts of breach of a release document. It is alleged that on the 16th of April officers received a call from a male to have a female removed from his residence. When officers arrived they found the accused intoxicated and refusing to leave and at the time she was on a recognizance order with conditions that she not attend at the male’s residence, not communicate with him or harass, molest, annoy or physically interfere with him due to previous domestic related charges.

Male Arrested for Impaired Driving and Possession of Stolen Van
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 18 year-old Xavier Polson of 163 Wellington Street East on the 16th of April at 6:49 am on Trunk Road and charged him with one count of impaired driving, one count of fail to provide breath sample, one count of possession of property obtained by crime and one count of theft over $5,000. It is alleged that on the 16th of April at approximately 6:48 am officers on routine patrol observed a vehicle driving erratically on Trunk Road.

The vehicle, a Pontiac Transport was observed travelling across all five lanes of traffic and then entering the exit lane of a Trunk Road business. The vehicle continued along the front grass area and sidewalk of the business and then struck a curb. Officers checked the driver and found him to be under the influence of alcohol. A further check on the vehicle revealed that it was stolen from the Garden River area earlier. Further, the accused was also wanted on an outstanding warrant for theft. The accused refused to provide a breath sample at the police station

Impaired Driving Arrest
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 56 year-old Dennis Charbonneau of 34 River Road on the 17th of April at 8:03 pm on Wellington Street and charged him with one count of consume over the legal limit. It is alleged that on the 17th of April at 7:52 pm stopped and checked vehicle on Wellington Street at Dundas Street and at the time they found that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. The accused was given the roadside screening device breathalyzer test and registered a fail. He was subsequently arrested. The accused is to appear in court on the 30th of May.

Male Arrested for Assault and Threatening
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 30 year-old Stephen Defrancesco of 275 First Avenue at 4:45 pm on Great Northern Road and charged him with one count of assault and one count of threaten death or bodily harm. It is alleged that on the 17th of April around 4:30 pm the accused assaulted and threatened to kill a male known to him while at a local restaurant bar. The victim received non-life threatening injuries as a result of the assault. The accused is to appear in court on the 30th of May.

Youth Arrested for Assault with a Weapon
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 15 year-old male on the 16th of April at 1:25 am at his residence and charged him with one count of assault with a weapon and one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that on the 16th of April the accused struck one of his family members with a guitar. The victim received non-life threatening injuries that required medical treatment. At the time of the incident the accused was on probation to keep the peace and be good. The accused is to appear in court on the 17th of May.

Female Arrested on Outstanding Warrant
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 37 year-old Melissa Elliott of #13-13 Timothy Place on the 15th of April at 10:15 pm at her residence and charged her with one count of fail to appear court. She is now scheduled to appear in court on the 16th of May.

Male Arrested on Outstanding Warrant
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 19 year-old Brooks Warmington of #220-503 Trunk Road on the 15th of April at 1:50 am on Centre Street and charged him with one count of breach of probation and one count of intoxicated in a public place. It is alleged that on the 15th of April at approximately 1:50 am officers received a call regarding a suspicious male on Centre Street and when they located him they found him to be in an intoxicated state. When officers ran a check on him they found that he was on probation with curfew conditions that he be in his place of residence from 11 pm to 7 am. He is to appear in court on the 16th of May.
