SAULT STE. MARIE POLICE SERVICE

On the 11th of January 2018 officers with the Investigation Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service executed a search warrant at a residence in the 200 block of Simpson Street.
As a result of the search, officers located a stolen semi-automatic .22 calibre hand gun. The firearm was loaded with one live round in the chamber and nine additional rounds in the magazine. The firearm was not properly stored and did not have a trigger lock on it at the time. In addition, officers located six more rounds of .22 calibre ammunition and a small amount of fentanyl.
At the scene officers arrested six individuals including;
- 27-year-old Allen Agawa of Cunningham Road,
- 29-year-old Briana Howard of Trelawne Avenue,
- 30-year-old Tricia Robinson of Simpson Street,
- 30-year-old Rebecca Stevens of Bi Da Bin Street Rankin,
- 36-year-old Shaun Mearow of Mission Road Goulias River; and,
- 32-year-old Eric Mearow of Simpson Street
Tricia Robinson, Briana Howard and Rebecca Stevens have been charged with;
- One count of unauthorized possession of a restricted weapon,
- One count of possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition,
- One count of possession of a restricted firearm obtained by crime,
- Two counts of careless storage of a firearm or ammunition; and,
- One count of possession of property obtained by crime
Tricia Robinson has also been charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance.
Allen Agawa has been charged with;
- One count of unauthorized possession of a firearm knowing that the person is not the holder of a license to possess it,
- One count of possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition,
- One count of possession of a weapon contrary to a court order,
- Two counts of careless storage of a firearm or ammunition; and,
- One count of possession of a firearm without being the holder of a license.
Shaun Mearow has been charged with;
- One count of unauthorized possession of a firearm knowing that the person is not the holder of a license to possess it,
- One count of possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition,
- Four counts of possession of a weapon contrary to a court order,
- Two counts of careless storage of a firearm or ammunition,
- One count of possession of a firearm without being the holder of a license,
- Two counts of breach of probation,
- One count of breach of undertaking,
- One count of possession of a firearm obtained by crime; and,
- One count of failing to attend court
Eric Mearow has been charged with;
- One count of unauthorized possession of a firearm knowing that the person is not the holder of a license to possess it,
- One count of possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition,
- Three counts of possession of a weapon contrary to a court order,
- One count of breach of undertaking,
- One count of possession of a firearm obtained by crime,
- Two counts of Careless Storage of a firearm or ammunition; and,
- One count of possession of a firearm without being the holder of a license.
All six accused persons were held for bail court and the investigation is continuing.
