SAULT STE. MARIE POLICE SERVICE

On Jan. 9, 2020 around 6 p.m. police responded to a call for service in the area of Caledon Street. Upon arrival officers found a male in critical condition suffering from a gunshot wound. The male, 44-year-old John David Jamieson, was transported to hospital, and later died as a result of his injuries.
The incident has been deemed a homicide and officers with Investigation Services continue to investigate. We believe this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety.
