Man charged with uttering threats, assaulting a police officer and more

On Jan. 17, 2018, officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 33-year-old Jamie Hodgson for break and enter.

Around 12:30 p.m., (it is alleged) the accused broke into the residence of people known to him by breaking the front door. The occupants were home at the time and contacted police. 

When the officer attended, the accused resisted the officer’s attempts to arrest him by struggling with the officer and pulling away while attempting to get back into the residence. 

The accused struggled with the officer and tripped the officer knocking him to the ground. The officer maintained control of the accused and was able to take him into custody. 

The accused has been charged with:

  • One count of break and enter,
  • One count of uttering threats,
  • One count of mischief,
  • One count of resisting arrest, and;
  • One count of assaulting a police officer.

He will appear in court on Feb. 26, 2018.
