Man charged after police find him in stolen vehicle

On June 13, 2018, officers with the Patrol Services Division of The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 27-year-old Michael Hodgson of Nebenaigoching Street for possession of a firearm.

On June 13, 2018 officers found the accused in a parking lot in the downtown area in a motor vehicle that had been reported stolen. The accused was taken into custody and provided a false name to police. Officers then located an unloaded rifle on the floor of the stolen vehicle.

Mr. Hodgson has been charged with:

  • One count of possession of property obtained by crime,
  • Two counts of possession of a firearm contrary to a court order,
  • One count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose,
  • One count of unauthorized possession of a firearm,
  • One count of possession of a firearm obtained by crime, and
  • One count of breach of probation

He was held for bail court.
