Man arrested for assault with a weapon

Sault Ste. Marie Police have charged a man with assault with a weapon after an incident Tuesday morning.

At around 10:12 a.m. on June 28, police were called to a residence in the 100 block of Wellington Street West, where the victim said they were being threatened with a knife.

At the scene police arrested 31-year-old Adam Taylor for uttering threats and assault with a weapon.

On June 28, 2022, officers in Patrol Services charged 31-year-old Adam Taylor with assault with a weapon.

Around 10:12 a.m. officers responded to a call of the accused threatening the victim with a knife at the victim’s residence in the 0-100 block of Wellington Street West. Officers responded, located the accused in the 100 block of Gore Street and he was arrested. The victim did not suffer physical injuries.

The accused is charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Uttering threats

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
