A 34-year-old was arrested last night at a Pine Street business for allegedly grabbing a worker's head — and stroking the hair of another worker.

Police were dispatched to the 700 block of Pine at around 6 p.m. after someone phoned 911 to report the altercation.

Police allege the suspect had verbally threatened both employees with a weapon he claimed to have.

“No physical injuries were sustained,” says a news release issued today by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service. “A search of the accused did not locate any weapons.”

Michel Koussaye, 34, is charged with two counts each of assault and uttering threats.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and Koussaye is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
