Individual sustains minor injuries after altercation with man who entered home

Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is investigating after a quantity of money was recently taken from two residences during a pair of break-and-enters in the city. 

Police responded to a report of a man entering a home in the area of Cunningham Road and Routledge Avenue at approximately 7:30 a.m. Nov. 1.

It’s believed the man was in possession of a knife during the incident. A resident of the home sustained minor injuries while engaging in an altercation with the man. 

Another residence on Willow Street was entered the night before. 

Police spokesperson Lincoln Louttit says police responded to a report of a man entering a Willow Street home at approximately 7 p.m. Oct. 31.

A quantity of money was taken from the residence. 

The investigation into both incidents is ongoing.
