Dumpster Fire This morning just after 3am officers came across a dumpster fire at 636 Goulais Avenue and the fire department was notified and responded.

This morning just after 3am officers came across a dumpster fire at 636 Goulais Avenue and the fire department was notified and responded. Officers located two youths a short distance away and arrested both girls who may not be identified due to there age. They have each been charged with 1 count of arson causing damage to property of others. Both girls are 15 years of age and are scheduled to appear in court on the 16th of October.

Possession of Stolen Bike

19 year old Scott Robinson-Maerz of 6 Hawthorn Avenue has been charged with 1 count of possession of property obtained by crime – under $5000. It is believed that the accused was in possession of a bicycle which had been reported to the police as stolen. Police received a call from the owner of the bike advising he had located the bike on Korah Road. When police attended the bike was in the possession of the accused. The bike was subsequently returned to the owner. The accused will be appearing in court on the 15th of October.

Theft Under $5,000

City Police arrested a 30 year old male with 1 count of theft under $5000. It is believed that the accused attended at the Sears Department Store and selected a pair of sunglasses, removed the tag then left the store without making any attempt to pay for the item. Sears security apprehended the accused and police were called. John William Hodgson of 462 Frontenac Street is scheduled to appear in court on the 15th of October.

One Break & Enter

City police took one report of a break and enter which occurred at on Forth Line East over night. It is not known what was taken at this time.

Officers took 6 reports of mischief to property yesterday.

1) In the 200 block of Northern Avenue a vehicle was vandalized when someone scratched it while it was parked in the driveway.

2) In the 300 block of Dacey Road a second vehicle was scratched while it was parked in the driveway.

3) In the 200 block of Terrance Avenue vandals smashed the windshield of a vehicle.

4) In the 200 block of Pim Street a vehicle was vandalized when the rear driver’s side window was smashed and a Sirrus radio was stolen.

5) At 407 McNabb Street, the 7Th Day Adventist Church a window was smashed out by vandals.

6) In the 100 block of Amber Street the tires of a vehicle were slashed.
