Bail Court: 1) At approxx 12:50 am this morning city police arrested a 21-year-old male. It is alleged that between March 3rd and April 30th 2008 the accused assaulted his girlfriend on several occasions by choking her.

1) At approxx 12:50 am this morning city police arrested a 21-year-old male. It is alleged that between March 3rd and April 30th 2008 the accused assaulted his girlfriend on several occasions by choking her. The accused is also said to have assaulted the victim on Sept 3rd when he grabbed her by the arm and attempted to pull her into his vehicle. Between July 1st and Sept 3rd, 2008 the accused harassed the victim by repeatedly phoning and text messaged her. On Sept 3rd, 2008 while driving his Chevy SUV on Allard St, the accused is alleged to have driven in a dangerous manner. The accused is charged with three counts of assault, one count of harassing phone calls, one count of dangerous driving and one count of threatening. The victim did not require medical treatment.

2) Yesterday afternoon city police arrested 31-year-old Edward Saunders on several warrants. Mr. Saunders is charged with one count of failing to appear for court, one count of failing to appear for identification, one count of theft under $ 5,000.00 and one count of mischief. Edward Saunders, age 31, of House # 5- Brunswick House, Chapleau will be appearing in court on Oct 6th at 9:00 am.

Man arrested on warrant for failing to appear for court:

Yesterday morning Richard Breton attended at the city police station and turned himself in on a warrant. It is alleged that Richard Breton, age 47, of 138 East St. failed to appear for court on August 11th on breach of probation charges. He will be appearing in court on Sept 29th at 9:00 am.

Male arrested for theft:

Yesterday afternoon city police arrested a 38-year-old male and charged him with one count of theft under
$ 5,000.00. It is alleged that during the weekend of August 23-24, 2008, the accused attended at the construction site at Trunk Rd and Tuckett St. and stole the metal concrete pouring forms. The forms were then taken to Trader’s Metal and sold. Police received information from Trader’s Metal and charged the accused. Charged is Darold Euale, age 37, of 22 Boston Ave. He will be appearing in court on Oct 6th at 9:00 am.

Break and enter:

A shed was entered at a residence in the 100 block of Hillside Dr. It is not known what was taken.

Mischief:

Solar lights were damaged at a residence in the 100 block of Murton Ave.
A vehicle was reported damaged in the 100 block of Great Northern Rd.
The front window of a residence in the 500 block of John St. was damaged with a BB pellet.

Thefts: City police received two reports of theft yesterday.

A bicycle was stolen from Queen Elizabeth School yesterday.
Money was stolen from a safe at an apartment building in the 300 block of Boundary Rd.
