Males Arrested at John Street Park: City police were called to the City Park on John Street yesterday afternoon around 4:15 pm for a report of four youths throwing garbage around the park.
Males Arrested at John Street Park:

City police were called to the City Park on John Street yesterday afternoon around 4:15 pm for a report of four youths throwing garbage around the park. When officers attended and checked the males, one of them was found in possession of 13.2 grams of marihuana and a digital scale. This male was on a probation order with conditions not to possess non-prescription drugs, to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and not to communicate or associate with the two of the males that he was with. As a result the male, 18 year-old Jordon Porter of 603 Second Line West - Apt. #4 was arrested and charged with one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance and four counts of breach of probation. He is to appear in bail court this morning.
Another 17 year-old male youth was also charged with two counts of breach of probation as at the time he was on conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and not to associate with the accused Jordon Porter. He is to appear in court on the 28th of October.

Male Charged with Assaulting Police Officer:

25 year-old Nathan Inch of 89 Millcreek Drive was arrested at 2:15 am this morning on Queen Street East and charged with one count of assault peace officer; one count of resist arrest and one count of threaten death or bodily harm. It is alleged that around 2 am the city police were called to a downtown bar regarding the male causing a disturbance and refusing to leave. When officers attended the accused pushed one of them in the chest area. He was arrested and refused to comply with the officer’s directions. Officers also learned that the accused threatened to kill one of the employees of the bar. He is to appear in court on the 27th of October.

Shoplifters Arrested:

1) 41 year-old Linda Martineau of 503 Second Line West (Main) was arrested at the city police station at 10:43 pm last night after turning herself in. She was charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00 and one count of breach of probation in relation to a shoplifting incident from the 22nd of September at Food Basics on Pine Street when it is alleged that the accused stole several meat items. She is to appear in court on the 27th of October.

2) 52 year-old Timothy Jones #2-302 Silverbirch Drive was arrested on the 25th of September at 8:10 pm on McNabb Street and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00, one count of breach of probation and one count of intoxicated in a public place. It is alleged that on the 25th of September at 7:50 pm the accused attended at Krazy Ernie’s Food Mart on McNabb Street, took a Gatorade out of the cooler, drank it and left without paying for it. At the time of the incident the accused was intoxicated and when officers located and arrested him on McNabb Street he was found in possession of 8 Pacific double blade razors that he had stolen from Krazy Ernie’s. He is to appear in court on the 27th of October.

Generator Fire at Korah Collegiate under Investigation:

City police were called to Korah Collegiate on Goulais Avenue around 11:37 pm last night for a fire. A witness reported hearing a loud bang and then observed something on fire on the ground area of the school. At that time, three males that were observed behind the school just prior to the fire ran westbound towards Westgate Drive. When officers arrived, Fire Services were on scene. A Honda Generator that had been on the roof of the school for the past few days for construction and repair purposes, had been lit on fire and was thrown to the ground.
The investigation is continuing and there are no further details to report at this time.
