Two Males Arrested for Theft From Vehicles On the 24th of September at 2:59 am, officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service received a call regarding two males entering several properties and going through vehicles in the Sunnydale Road Area.

On the 24th of September at 2:59 am, officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service received a call regarding two males entering several properties and going through vehicles in the Sunnydale Road Area. Officers on route further learned that one of the complaints was holding and struggling with one of the males he caught going through his vehicle. Officers attended in the area and found that two male complainants were holding one of the accused and learned that the accused had punched one of the complainants several times in an effort to evade apprehension. Offices took the male into custody and at the time he was found to be in possession of two pair of gloves and a small knife. Officers apprehended the second male in the area a short time later and he was found in possession of stolen lottery tickets, change and Canadian Tire money belonging to another vehicle owner on Sunnydale and several other stolen items.
The first male, 19 year-old Gregory Pearce of 539 John Street was arrested and charged with one count of robbery, three counts of theft under $5,000.00, two counts of attempt theft, one count of possession of housebreaking tools, one count of trespassing at night and two counts of breach of probation.
The second male, 22 year-old Robert Parent of #2-245 Huron Street was arrested and charged with two counts of theft under $5,000, two counts of attempt theft under $5,000, three counts of attempt theft, one count of trespassing at night and three counts of possession of stolen property. Both accused males are to appear in bail court this morning.

Road Closure
Black Road between Second Line and Third Line is closed for regular traffic due to heavy amounts of rainfall in that area.

Property Crimes: Thefts from Vehicles
• An iPod, a Proxy Cards, and other identification were stolen from a vehicle in the 1000 block of Old Garden River Road.
• A GPS and a Birth Certificate were stolen from vehicles on Landslide Road.
• A Sirius Satellite radio was stolen from a vehicle in the 200 block of Sixth Avenue.
• A wallet was stolen from a car on Fourth Avenue.
