Five persons to appear in bail court Yesterday evening members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 32-year-old female for fraud, uttering forged documents and possession of a stolen credit card.
Five persons to appear in bail court

Yesterday evening members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 32-year-old female for fraud, uttering forged documents and possession of a stolen credit card. It is alleged that on August 18th the accused stole a credit card from a person known to her.

It is further alleged that on August 18th and 19th the accused committed the offences of fraud and uttering forged documents by using the stolen credit card at various businesses in Sault Ste Marie.

Elizabeth Shier, age 32, of 4606 Second Line W. is charged with six counts of fraud, six counts of uttering a forged document, one count of attempted fraud and one count of possession of a stolen credit card.

Last night members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 20-year-old male on warrants for failing to appear for court and trespassing by night. It is alleged that the accused failed to appear in court on August 15th 2011. Jordan Atkinson, age 20 of 29 Albion St is charged with one count of failing to appear for court and one count o trespass by night.

Yesterday afternoon members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 22-year-old male for assault, threatening and breach of a recognizance. It is alleged that yesterday afternoon the accused threatened to kill his girlfriend. It is further alleged that the accused then assaulted her.

At the time of these offences the accused was on a recognizance release order and breach a condition of that order. John McGaughey, age 22, of 23 Alden Ave is charged with one count of threatening death, one count of assault and one count of breach of a recognizance. The victim suffered minor injuries but did not require medical attention.

Yesterday afternoon members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested two persons for possession of a controlled substance for the purpose trafficking. It is alleged that Damien Sharpe and Ariel Ramkay had joint possession of 15.3 grams of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

It is further alleged that they also had joint possession of a knife that opened by centrifugal force – a prohibited weapon. Further it is alleged that Damien Sharpe was in possession of 14 Ritalin tablets. Arresting officers also seized $ 3,285 on the accused persons.

Charged are Damien Sharpe, age 25, of 571 Parliament St is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose trafficking, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of a prohibited weapon.

Ariel Ramkay, age 20, of 6641 Highway 17 East, Desbarats, Ontario is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, one count of a controlled substance and one count of possession of a prohibited weapon.

Female arrested for assault

Yesterday afternoon members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 37-year-old female for assault. It is alleged that the accused assaulted a female known. The incident occurred in the downtown area. Police were called and the accused was arrested. The victim suffered minor injuries. Dawn Santoro, age 37, of 605 Queen St. W. is charged with one count of assault6. Ms Santoro is to appear in court on October 3rd at 9:00 am.

Two females arrested for theft

Early this morning members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested two females for theft and possession of property obtained by crime. It is alleged that the accused persons entered the Mac’s Mart Store, on Gore St. and stole five energy drinks and five bags of chips.

Taralynn Swanson, age 18, of 25 Maki Rd, Wawa, Ontario is charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and one count of possession of stolen property.

Keri Sayers, age 19, of 371 Wellington St. E is charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and one count of possession of stolen property.

Both accused females are to appear in court on October 3rd at 9:00 am.

Two young persons arrested for theft

Yesterday members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested two females aged 15 and 16 for theft. It is alleged that the accused entered an east end variety store and stole fireworks and food items valued at $123.70. It is further alleged that the 15-year-old accused resisted arrest and assaulted a police officer.

The 15-year-old female is charged with one count of possession of [property obtained by crime, one count of resist arrest and one count of assault police.

The 16-year-old female is charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime.

Both accused are to appear in court on November 1st at 9:30 am

Break and enter

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service received two reports of break and enters yesterday.

A residence in the 600 block of McKenzie Ave was entered – it is unknown what was taken.

A residence in the 100 block of Creery Ave was entered – cash was reported stolen.

Mischief

Vehicles were reported damaged in the 100 block of march St. and the 100 block of Chartwell Dr.

The new playground equipment at H.M.Robbins School was vandalized.

Theft

Automotive equipment was stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Elmwood Ave.

Jewellery was stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Hillside Dr.

Electronics were stolen from a vehicle in the 100 block of Collins Ave.
