The following four persons will be appearing in bail court this morning:

1) A 14 year-old female youth was arrested at 6:47 pm on the 13th at a local youth home and charged with two counts of threaten death or bodily harm, two counts of assault with a weapon, one count of breach of a release document and one count of mischief under $5,000.00. It is alleged that while at the youth home, the accused was in possession of a pocket knife while she was on a recognizance release condition not to be in possession of any knife. The accused while holding the knife, threatened to kill another youth male resident if he said anything about having the knife. It is further alleged that the accused threatened one of the workers while she was holding the knife and also damaged a cabinet drawer.

2) A 35 year-old male was arrested at his residence on the 14th of September at 3:24 am and charged with one count of robbery. It is alleged that the accused pushed his common-law wife to the ground at their centrally located residence, punched her in the face and stole $60.00 from her. The victim received injuries that did not require medical attention.

3) 27 year-old Shawn Dunlop of #309-27 Terry Fox Place was arrested on the 13th of September at 10:35 am at the city police station and charged with ten counts of breach of recognizance. It is alleged that from the 31st of August to the 12th of September the accused breached his release document conditions on numerous occasions from not notifying the Sault Ste Marie Police Service of his new change of address, not residing with his surety, and on several occasions he was in the company of persons between the ages of 13 – 17 years at his residence while he was on conditions not to be in company of any persons under the age of 18.

4) A 15 year-old youth was arrested on the 13th of September at 5:34 pm on Goulais Avenue and charges with one count of assault, one count of breach of a release document and one count of breach of probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. It is alleged that the accused assaulted a fellow student at a local high school on the 13th of September around 8 am by pushing him up against a wall and kneeing him in his side. At the time of the offence the accused was on probation and recognizance conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. There were no injuries reported.

Assault & Fail to Appear for Fingerprints

22 year-old Ralph Burby of #12-874 Queen Street East was arrested on the 13th of September at his residence and charged with one count of assault and one count of fail to appear for fingerprints. It is alleged that the accused assaulted a female resident known to him at his apartment complex by punching her in the head several times. There were no injuries reported to the victim. When officers ran a check on the accused they discovered that he was wanted on an outstanding warrant for fail to appear for fingerprints from the 5th of September. The accused is to appear in court on the 15th of October.

Impaired Driving

22 year-old Leslie Lesage (male) of 14 Dream Catcher Road in Garden River Ontario was arrested on the 14th of September at 3:48 am and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over legal limit. It is alleged that on the 14th of September at approximately 3:30 am the accused was operating a 1997 Ford Ranger eastbound on Truck Road when he lost control of the vehicle, crossed two lanes of oncoming traffic, jumped the traffic island at the intersection of Trunk Road and Black Road and hit a light pole. The accused attempted to reverse and struck the curb. When officers attended at the scene they found that the accused was under the influence of alcohol. There were no injuries reported and the vehicle received severe damage. The accused is to appear in court on the 22nd of October.
