Domestic Assault

There is one male adult to appear in bail court this morning in relation to a domestic related assault. The 47 year-old male was arrested on the 12th of September at 12:05 am at his residence and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 11th of September at approximately 11:30 pm the accused got into a verbal argument with his common law spouse at their residence and knocked a pair of headphones off her head. No injuries were reported.

Impaired Driver Arrested

50 year-old William Lethbridge of 43 Kent Crescent was arrested on the 11th of September at 9:07 pm on Kent Crescent and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. It is alleged that on the 11th of September at 9:05 pm the accused was observed by city police driving his vehicle at a high rate of speed on Peoples Road. Officers stopped the vehicle just as the accused pulled into his driveway. At the time he was checked officers found him to be under the influence of alcohol. He is to appear in court on the 20th of October.

Shoplifters Arrested

1) 21 year-old David Rous of #4-385 Cathcart Street was arrested on the 11th of September at 5:07 pm at Rome’s Independent Grocer and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00. It is alleged that on the 11th of September at 5:05 pm the accused attended at the Grocery store and stole two packages of meat. The accused was apprehended by store security and held for police. He is to appear in court on the 6th of October.

2) 19 year-old Jesse Marrello of 682 McAllen Street was arrested on the 11th of September at 12:45 pm at Canadian Tire and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00. It is alleged that on the 11th of September just before noon the accused attended at the Store and stole three Buzz Bomb fishing lures. He was apprehended by store security and held for police. He is to appear in court on the 6th of October.

3) 18 year-old Jonathan Beharriell of 130 Arden Street and a 16 year-old male youth were arrested on the 11th of September at 4:25 pm at Canadian Tire and both charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00. It is alleged that on the 11th of September at 4:20 pm the two attended at the store and stole bear spray. They were apprehended by store security and help for police. The 18 year-old is to appear in court on the 6th of October and the 16 year-old on the 7th of October.

Property Crimes: Theft Reports

• An iPod was reported stolen from a dressing room at the Essar Centre.
• A purse was stolen from a porch of a residence in the 100 block of Henrietta Avenue.
• Two bikes were stolen from a residence of Gore Street.
• A vehicle was entered on Superior Drive. A buck knife, the ownership and insurance card were reported stolen.

Mischief Reports

• A vehicle parked at Sault College on the 11th of September was dented.
• A small amount of spray paint was discovered on the rear of the Wal-Mart building.

Break and Enter Report

There was a break and enter reported to the storage closet in the hallway of an apartment building on Queen Street East.
