Two persons are to appear in bail court this morning

1) A 30 year-old male was arrested on the 3rd of October at 12:15 am at his residence as a result of domestic related incidents. It is alleged that on the 3rd of October around 12:10 am at his residence the accused threatened to kill his common law spouse and assaulted her by punching her in the face. The accused also assaulted the victim’s 13 year-old son by punching him in the head a number of times. Both victims received non-life threatening injuries. Officers investigating the incident further learned that on the 2nd of October the accused held a 22 rifle to the head of his spouse and threatened to kill her.
He has been charged with two counts of assault, one count of threaten death or bodily harm, one count of use of a firearm during the commission of an offence, one count of careless use of a firearm, one count of pointing a firearm and one count of possession of a weapon dangerous to public.

2) 23 year-old Krystal Hart of #2-2Albert Street West was arrested on the 2cnd of October at 4:34 pm on Albert Street East on several outstanding warrants. She has been charged with two counts of fail to appear court, one count of fail to appear for prints and two counts of breach of probation.

Two Persons Arrested after Drug Warrant Executed at their Residence

On the 2nd of October at 3:35 pm officers from the Sault Ste Marie Police Service Street Team along with Patrol Services executed a drug search warrant at 41 Old Garden River Road, Apartment 303. During the course of the search, officers located a small amount of cannabis marihuana, a prohibited weapon and various other drug paraphernalia.

As a result, 50 year-old Larry Hendry and 21 year-old Elizabeth Gilbert both of 41 Old Garden River Road-Apt.#303 were arrested and charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance and one count of unauthorized possession of a weapon. They are to appear in court on the 3rd of November.

Shoplifter Charged with Theft

48 year-old Margaret Hargreaves of 106 Lorna Drive was arrested on the 2nd of October at 5:45 pm at Rome’s Independent Grocers and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00. It is alleged that she attended at the grocery store on the 2nd of October at 5:10 pm and stole some medications. She was apprehended by store security and held for police.

Driver Charged with Having an Insecure Load

City police responded to an accident yesterday morning at 11:54 am on McNabb Street that resulted in one driver being injured and the other driver being charged with having an insecure load. It is alleged that a Chev pick up truck that was travelling westbound on McNabb Street towing a utility trailer when a mattress that was inside the trailer blew off and struck the front windshield of a Dodge van that was travelling eastbound on McNabb Street. The 81 year-old male driver of the van received minor injuries as a result of some of the glass splinters from the windshield striking him in the eye area. He was treated at the scene by Ambulance Services.
The driver of the Pick up truck, 29 year-old Travis Brown of 99 White Oak Drive was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with one count of insecure load.
