Two Domestic Related Arrests for Bail Court Appearance this Morning:

1) A 23 year-old male was arrested on the 22nd of October at 10:50 pm in the west end of the city and charged with one count of assault and one count of threaten death or bodily harm. It is alleged that on the 22nd of October at around 8 pm the accused attended at a west end residence where his ex-girlfriend was visiting, threatened to kill her and spat on her.

2) A 36 year-old male was arrested on the 22nd of October at 11:30 pm at the city police station after turning himself in. He was charged with one count of sexual assault. It is alleged that in mid March the accused sexually assaulted his ex-girlfriend at his residence.

Intoxicated Male Arrested for Breach of Probation:

53 year-old Caleb Perrault of 340 Highway 17 East, Garden River was arrested last night at 8:35 pm on Trunk Road and charged with two counts of breach of probation. On the 22nd of October at approximately 8:20 pm city police received a call regarding an intoxicated male on Trunk Road. Police located him and it is alleged that he was found in an intoxicated state. He smelled strongly of alcohol, his speech was slurred and he was unsteady on his feet. The accused was on probation at the time that he not consume any alcohol and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

Motor Vehicle Collision with Injuries:

At 9:13 am on the 22nd of October, city police attended to a motor vehicle collision on Elizabeth Street that sent one female driver to hospital by ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. It is alleged that the female driver pulled out of a private lot onto Elizabeth Street into the path of an oncoming southbound vehicle. The female driver, 40 year-old Clara Nielsen of 166 Port Charles Road in Garden River, was charged with one count of failing to yield from private drive under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.

Theft Reports:


• A vehicle on Breton Road and one n the 1000 block of Wellington Street East were entered sometime overnight on the 22nd of October. Approximately $3000.00 worth of science and lab books and other school supplies were reported taken from the vehicle parked in a driveway of a residence on Wellington Street East.
• A trailer in the 600 block of Albert Street West was entered and a 30 pound propane tank was reported stolen.
