Youth Charged with Assault with a Weapon A 17-year old youth will appear in bail court this morning. It is alleged that the accused got into an argument with their dating partner at an east end address.
Youth Charged with Assault with a Weapon

A 17-year old youth will appear in bail court this morning. It is alleged that the accused got into an argument with their dating partner at an east end address. It is alleged that the accused chased the victim with a steak knife. The victim was able to get the accused out of the home and lock the doors. It is alleged that the accused then grabbed a rock and threw it through a window. At the time of the incident the accused was on conditions not to molest harass or annoy the victim. The accused has been charged with one count of assault with a weapon, one count of mischief under $5,000 and one count of breach of probation.

Breach of A Release Order

A 17-year old youth will appear in bail court this morning. Last night officers located the youth in the downtown area just after 8 pm. The youth was on a release order with a curfew of 8 pm and was located in a downtown address that the accused was on conditions not to be at. As a result the youth was charged with 2 counts of breach of a release order.


Female Charged with Theft

21-year old Jennifer Kenequanash of 2-260 Wellington Street West was arrested last evening at the Zellers Store in the Station Mall after it is alleged the accused attempted to steal a pair of running shoes valued at $75. The accused has bee charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and will appear in court on November 21st.


Yesterday City Police took 2 reports of break and enters:

1) Yesterday morning it was reported that thieves broke into William Merrifield School located at 331 Patrick Street. The break and entered occurred overnight. A number of rooms were gone through and it is unknown what was taken at the time of the report.

2) A home in the 800 block of Wellington Street East was entered yesterday. The homeowner reported the matter last evening when they discovered it. A large number of power tools were taken in the break in.

Motor Vehicle Collision

Yesterday morning just after 11 am City Police attended at Bruce Street and Wilson Street for a motor vehicle collision with injuries. A car operated by 67-year old Joanne Wuori of 10 Strand Street was traveling southbound on Bruce Street. It is alleged that a car operated by 53-year old Winfield Lyons of 209 Point Deschenes pulled out from Wilson Street to turn northbound onto Bruce Street and struck the Wuori vehicle. A passenger in the Wuori vehicle received non-life threatening injuries but did not require medical treatment at the time. Winfield Lyons has been charged with one count of turn-not in safety. Vehicle damage to both vehicle is described as light.
