Assault Causing Bodily Harm A 29 year-old male was arrested on the 8th of November at 11:25 am on an outstanding warrant at his downtown residence and charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm, one count of mischief under $5,000.

A 29 year-old male was arrested on the 8th of November at 11:25 am on an outstanding warrant at his downtown residence and charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm, one count of mischief under $5,000.00, one count of break, enter and commit and one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that on the 2nd of November at approximately 10:00 am the accused entered his ex-girlfriend’s residence, without her permission and assaulted her by throwing her into a stove and wall and attempted to choke her. The victim received non-life threatening injuries. It is further alleged that the accused did damage inside the residence by breaking a stove light, damaging a fridge and putting a hole in the wall. The accused had fled prior to police arrival. The accused was on probation at the time of the incident with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behavior. He is to appear in bail court this morning.

Youth Charged with Theft

A 14 year-old female youth was arrested on an outstanding warrant on the 9th of November at 2:30 am at her west end residence and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00. It is alleged that on the 18th of October the accused stole a camera from a family member and gave it to a friend to sell.
She is to appear in court on the 11th of December.

Theft From Sears

18 year-old Ian Burns of 22 Wright Street was arrested yesterday at 10:34 at Sears in the Station Mall and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00. It is alleged that on the 8th of November at approximately 10:00 am the accused attended at Sears and stole a bottle of cologne valued at $83.00. The accused was apprehended by store security and held for police. He is to appear in court on the 10th of December.

Youth Arrested at High school

A 14 year-old male youth was arrested on the 8th of November at 9:40 am at a local high school and charged with one count of assault and one count of breach of a peace bond recognizance. It is alleged that on the 8th of November at approximately 8:15 am the accused assaulted another male youth, known to him on the school bus in front of the high school. It is alleged that the accused punched the youth in the head. The victim received non-life threatening injuries. At the time of the offence the accused was on recognizance conditions that he not harass, molest or physically interfere with the victim. He is to appear in court on the 11th of December.

Break and enters reported yesterday and overnight:

1) A residence on Wilding Avenue was entered sometime overnight on the 5th – 6th of November. A DVD player, a computer monitor, some tools and alcohol were reported stolen.

2) The Cartreck Automotive Business on Bruce Street was entered just before 2 am this morning. Three or four subwoofers were reported stolen.
