Two Domestic Related Arrests for Bail Court Appearance this Morning

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 35 year-old male on the 3rd of November at 8:52 pm and charged him with one count of assault, one count of mischief and one count of breach of a release document. It is alleged that on the 3rd of November at approximately 3 am the accused attended at a residence that his girlfriend was visiting, assaulted her and caused damaged to two doors and a window in the residence. At the time of the offence the accused was under the influence of alcohol and was on an undertaking with conditions that he not consume any alcohol. The victim received non-life threatening injuries as a result of the assault.

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 47 year-old male at 1:50 am overnight and charged him with two counts of threatening death and four counts of breach of a release document. It is alleged that the on the 4th of November the accused attended at the residence of his ex-girlfriend while in an intoxicated condition, threatened to kill her and a male that was in the residence at the time. The accused was on a recognizance order with conditions that he not attend at the victim’s residence, that he not communicate, harass, molest, annoy or physically interfere with her and was to keep the peace and be good.


Impaired Driving Arrest

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 38 year-old Darrell Johnson of 92 Gran Street at 11:30 pm on Amy Avenue and charged him with one count of impaired driving and one count of fail to provide a breath sample. It is alleged that on the 3rd of November at approximately 11:17 pm officers received a call regarding a vehicle being operated in an erratic manner on Wellington Street East. Witnesses observed the vehicle swerving over the centre lane and travelling through two red lights.

Officers were able to stop the vehicle, a 2008 Chrysler, on Amy Avenue and at the time they found the driver, the accused, to be under the influence of alcohol.

The accused was arrested for impaired driving and taken to the station for a breathalyzer test. The accused refused to provide a breath sample. He is to appear in court on the 5th of December.


Shoplifting Arrest

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 25 year-old Joshua Bergamin of 56 Willow Avenue on the 3rd of November at 3:15 pm at Wal-Mart and charged him with one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged that on the 3rd of November at approximately 2:15 pm the accused attended at the store and stole two DVD movies. The accused is to appear in court on the 28th of November.


Break and Enter Report

A business on Great Northern Road was entered sometime Wednesday overnight. The cash register that contained some money was reported taken.

Theft reports

• A vehicle on Mark Street was reported entered sometime Wednesday overnight. A wallet containing some cash, various identification and credit cards was reported taken.

• Both Licence plates were stolen from a vehicle on Market Street yesterday.

Mischief Reports

• A business sign on Second Line West was vandalized.

• A vehicle was keyed in a parking lot in the 400 block of Northern Avenue on Thursday.
