Collision at Gore & Albert On the 23rd of November at approximately 9AM a collision occurred at the intersection of Gore Street and Albert Street East. The vehicles involved are described as a 1996 white Chevy truck and a 1995 green Ford truck.

On the 23rd of November at approximately 9AM a collision occurred at the intersection of Gore Street and Albert Street East. The vehicles involved are described as a 1996 white Chevy truck and a 1995 green Ford truck. City Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this accident. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sault Ste Marie Police Services, Traffic Department at 949-6300 ext 348.

Domestic Disturbances Leads to Charges

1) City Police responded to a domestic disturbance late yesterday evening. It is believed that a female and male involved in the occurrence entered into a verbal disagreement. The argument then escalated to where the female swung a belt and struck the male numerous times. The female then grabbed a butcher knife and threatened to kill the victim. The victim fled their east end residence and contacted the Police. The 22-year-old female was arrested and has been charged with 1 count of Assault with a Weapon and 1 count of Threaten Death. She will be appearing in Bail Court this morning. The victim did not require medical attention.

2) Last night Officers also responded to a Domestic situation at another East end residence. In this incident another argument escalated to the point of physical violence. The female in this incident grabbed the male by the neck and punched and kicked him. City Police were called to investigate and the female was arrested and charged with 1 count of assault. The male in this incident did not require medical attention for his injuries. The 37-year-old female is to appear in court on January 3rd.

Two Incidents of Shoplifting from Sears

1) Darryl Lee Ojeebah of 874 Queen Street East Apt# 9 was arrested yesterday afternoon at approximately 2:30PM. It’s believed that the 40-year-old accused was at Sears Retail Store where Security Officers observed him. Mr. Ojeebah was on a Trespass Order to stay away from the store. The accused was arrested and found in his possession was a pair of gloves belonging to the store. The accused has been charged with 1 count of theft and is to appear in court on January 8th.

2) In a second incident at Sears, 42-year-old Janet Darlene Lorenz of 903 Queen Street East Apt# 31 along with 41-year-old Douglas Ronald Boston of the same address were arrested for shoplifting at approximately 4PM. It’s believed that the two accused were at Sears Retail Store on Bay Street when they were observed attempting to leave the store without paying for a Panasonic Phone Bundle set they had in their possession. They were apprehended by mall security and City Police responded. Both were charged with 1 count of Theft Under $5000 and are to appear in court on the 8th of January.

Collision Infront of McDonald's on Trunk

Yesterday afternoon, just after 5PM City Police responded to an accident, which occurred on Trunk Road just in front of McDonalds restaurant. 47-year-old Elizabeth Plastino was the driver of a 2002 silver Pontiac and was making a west turn out of McDonald’s driveway on Trunk Road. 27-year-old Trevor Rankin was traveling east bound on Trunk Road in the inside lane. It’s believed that both cars collided into each other sending both vehicles across the road into the westbound lanes. Both driver and passenger in the silver Pontiac were taken to hospital by ambulance and received non-life threatening injuries. Trevor Rankin also received non-life threatening injuries but did not require medical attention. Elizabeth Plastino has been charged with 1 count of Fail To Yield From Driveway, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
