Robbery Being Investigated The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is currently investigating a robbery that had occurred on the 19th of November 2010 just after midnight.

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is currently investigating a robbery that had occurred on the 19th of November 2010 just after midnight. A female victim was approached by a male with a knife at a bus stop near the east end of the city limits. The suspect robbed the female of an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect is described as being a native male and approximately six feet tall with long hair and a pony tail. The victim was unharmed.

Two For Bail Court (domestic related)
A 26-year-old male was arrested on the 17th of November 2010 at 11:30 p.m. at a west end residence for breach of probation. It is alleged that the accused had attended a residence belonging to his ex girlfriend while on probation prohibiting him to do so. He was charged for breach of probation and is currently awaiting bail court.

A 25-year-old male was arrested on the 18th of November 2010 at 7:25 p.m. at his west end residence for criminal harassment. It is alleged that the accused had contacted his ex-wife multiple times over the past three weeks despite being cautioned not to do so. He was charged with criminal harassment and held for bail court.

Impaired Drivers
53-year-old William Howard of, 78 Superior Drive, was arrested on the 18th of November 2010 at 5:10 p.m. at his residence for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. It is alleged that the accused was observed by patrol officers operating his car erratically on Second Line East and was subsequently stopped as he returned to his home. The accused was found to be impaired by alcohol. He was arrested and charged for impaired driving and released with a court date of the 20th of December 2010.

63-year-old Patrick Joseph Ryan, of 71 Rossmore Road, was arrested on the 18th of November 2010 at 6:42 p.m. on Rossmore Road for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. It is alleged that the accused was involved in a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Rossmore Road and Korah Road. The accused was operating this truck west on Rossmore Road and struck a south bound car while making a wide right hand turn onto Korah Road. Police officers who attended to investigate the accident found the accused to be impaired by alcohol and he was subsequently arrested and charged. The accused was released with a court date of the 10th of January 2011. Damage to both vehicles was moderate and the 54-year-old female driver of the other vehicle was unharmed in the collision.

Shoplifters
33-year-old Richard Levesque, of 604 Placid Avenue, and Christina Wesley, of 165 Tancred Street, were arrested on the 18th of November 2010 at 6:23 p.m. at Walmart (446 Great Northern Road) for shoplifting. It is alleged that both of the accused concealed merchandise on their person and left the store without paying. They were arrested by store security and held for police. Police attended and charged both accused persons with theft under $5,000. The accused Wesley was additionally charged with breach of probation as she was on a probation order at the time with the condition to keep the peace and be of good behavior.

Break And Enters
• A garage in the 600 block of Goetz Street was broken into where a chainsaw and drill press were stolen.
• A shed was broken into on Spadina Avenue where a skill saw and hammer drill were stolen.
• A residence in the 400 block of Northland Road was broken into where and X Box game console was stolen.

Mischief And Theft Re. Vehicles
Windows were smashed on:
• two vehicles in the 200 block of St. Georges Avenue East
• two vehicles in the 100 block of Wellington Street East (a laptop was stolen)
• A vehicle on Hood Street was entered (an IPOD and cell phone were stolen)
