Assault with a Weapon 22 year-old Ronald Mitchell of 1762 Queen Street East was arrested just after midnight at a central bar and charged with one count of assault with a weapon and two counts of breach of a probation order.

22 year-old Ronald Mitchell of 1762 Queen Street East was arrested just after midnight at a central bar and charged with one count of assault with a weapon and two counts of breach of a probation order. It is alleged that the accused assaulted another male by striking him in the head with a pool ball wrapped in a sock. The victim was treated at the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. At the time of the incident the accused was on probation to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. The accused will be appearing in bail court this morning.

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

27 year-old Randy Bussineau of 440 Bush Street was arrested yesterday at around 5:30 pm on Grand Boulevard and charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime. It is alleged that officers on routine patrol observed the accused driving eastbound on St Georges Avenue East in a stolen Pontiac sunfire. The vehicle had been reported stolen in the afternoon on the 2nd of May from the Heritage Place parking lot on Macdonald Avenue. The accused is to appear in court on the 12th of June.

Theft from No Frills

39 year-old Janet Nichols of #4-109 Carufel Avenue was arrested yesterday afternoon and charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and one count of breach of a release document. It is alleged that the accused attended at No Frills on Korah Road and stole groceries valued at $29.86. At the time of the offence the accused was on a release document to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. The accused is to appear in court on the 4th of June.

Careless Driving

Officers attended at a motor vehicle collision at Queen Street East and Elizabeth Street yesterday just before 6 pm. Silver Hyundai traveling eastbound on Queen Street East, stopped at the intersection of Elizabeth Street and while waiting for traffic to clear to turn left, it was struck from behind by an eastbound red lincoln. A 77 year-old female passenger in the lincoln had to be transported to hospital by ambulance for non-life threatening injuries. Both vehicles sustained severe damage. 79 year-old Karl Laher of 53 Village Court has been charged with one count of careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act.

Breaknd and Enter

One break and enter was reported to a storage unit in the 700 block of Pine Street. A cooler was taken. Several other units were damaged.
