The following persons will be appearing in bail court this morning:

Officers from the Sault Ste Marie Police Service with assistance from the Anishinabek Police Service concluded their investigation, located and arrested three persons, two males and one female, that were responsible for a rash of break and enters from the 22nd and the 24th of May, 2007. It is alleged that sometime overnight on the 22nd of May the three broke into a home and garage on Carufel Avenue and stole several power tools. Two males in the group then entered into the residence and stole several DVD movies. It is further alleged that sometime overnight on the 23rd and the 24th of May the three broke into garages on McFadden Avenue, Wallace Terrace and Douglas Avenue and stole more power tools and a generator. The three also broke into another residence on Central Street and stole some jewellery, a guitar, some money and a steel sword.

The three persons charged are:
1) 20 year-old Tyler McMillan of #3-109 Carufel Avenue is charged with three counts of break, enter and commit, two counts of theft under $5,000, two counts of possession of property obtained by crime, one count of possession of housebreaking tools, and two counts of breach of probation, as he was on release conditions at the time of the incidents to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
2) 21 year-old Cassandra Tilson of #3-110 Wilding Avenue is charged with three counts of break, enter and commit, two counts of theft under $5,000, three counts of possession of property obtained by crime and one count of possession of housebreaking tools.
3) A 14 year-old male youth was charged with two counts of break, enter and commit, three counts of possession of property obtained by crime, two counts of theft under $5,000, one count of mischief and four counts of breach of probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, as he was on conditions at the time of the incidents to keep the peace and be of good behavior.

Two persons were arrested overnight with drinking and driving related offences:

1) 24 year-old Matti Hanninen of 8 Hugill Street was arrested on Cameron Avenue around 3 am and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. It is alleged that the accused was observed by patrol officers driving a red van on Pim Street when the vehicle began to swerve and drift from the left to right lane. The vehicle was stopped on Cameron Avenue and the male driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol. The accused is to appear in court on the 25th of June.

2) 20 year-old Lori Noel of 17 Boston Avenue was arrested on Church Street at around 4:30 am and charged with one count of impaired driving, one count of consume over the legal limit and one count of take auto without consent. It is alleged that the accused was observed by witnesses driving a Pontiac grand prix on St. Georges Avenue West when the vehicle jumped the curb and hit an unattended parked car at the rear of a residence on North Street. The vehicle attempted to reverse and struck a house on St. Georges Avenue West. The vehicle then drove away. A witness called the police and followed the vehicle until it pulled into a driveway on Pim. Street. Police attended and arrested the female driver that was found to be under the influence of alcohol. There were no injuries and very minor property damage to the vehicle and residence. It is further alleged that when police were investigating this incident they discovered that the accused took the vehicle without permission from the owner who was known to her. The accused is to appear in court on the 25th of June.
