The Sault Ste Marie Police Service had a relatively quiet day yesterday. The Service responded to 82 calls for assistance. These calls resulted in four minor arrests. BREAK & ENTER A break and enter was reported last evening at approximately 11:55 p.

BREAK & ENTER
A break and enter was reported last evening at approximately 11:55 p.m. at 158 Lake Street, The Lake Street Confectionary. This business had its front window broken in an attempt to enter the premises. It is believed that the owners that live on the premises may have scared off the suspect(s).


NUISANCE BEARS
There were 4 complaints of nuisance bears, all in the west in of town. Mr. Doug Belanger, of Chi Makwa Enterprises, was contacted to set up a live bear trap near the bear sightings. Chi Makwa Enterprises is a company contracted by the City to trap nuisance bears.


GOLF COURSE DAMAGED
City police officers are investigating a complaint of mischief at The Superior View Golf Course on Gagnon Road. The golf course suffered damage to its greens when unknown person(s) drove a four-wheeler onto the course. Any person with information on this incident is asked to contact the police.


ACCIDENT SENDS TWO TO HOSPITAL
Yesterday afternoon at approximately 5:00 p.m., police were called to Trunk Road and Dacey Road in regards to a motor vehicle collision. The accident resulted in two people being sent to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

A vehicle traveling east on Trunk Road struck a vehicle that was turning right from northbound Dacey Road to eastbound Trunk Road. The northbound vehicle then struck a utility pole on the southeast corner of the intersection. Police are still investigating the accident.
