REQUEST THE PUBLIC’S ASSISTANCE IN IDENTIFYING ROBBERY SUSPECT Sault Ste. Marie City Police are continuing the investigation into the robbery that occurred on the 12th of May 2009 at 3:30 am at the Mac’s Mart on Gore Street.
REQUEST THE PUBLIC’S ASSISTANCE IN IDENTIFYING ROBBERY SUSPECT

Sault Ste. Marie City Police are continuing the investigation into the robbery that occurred on the 12th of May 2009 at 3:30 am at the Mac’s Mart on Gore Street. The suspect approached the cashier and produced a note demanding the money in the till. A quantity of cash was turned over to the suspect who fled the store. The suspect is described as an adult male, Caucasian, with short brown hair. Police are requesting the media and the public’s assistance in identifying the individual in the attached photo.

Male Charged with Sexual Assault:

40 year-old David Warren of 41 Rose Des Vents, in St. Jean Des Martha Quebec was arrested on the 21st of May at 12:04 pm on McNabb Street and charged with two counts of sexual assault. It is alleged that from the 14th – 17th of May the accused sexually assaulted a female adult known to him by touching her inappropriately on two separate occasions. The incidents occurred inside the vehicle of the accused when he was providing transportation for the victim. He is to appear in bail court this morning.

Male Youth Arrested for Incidents at Fair Grounds:

A 15 year-old youth was arrested on the 21st of May and charged with one count of assault, one count of resist arrest, one count of break and enter with intent, one count of escape custody, one count of person under 19 years consume liquor and fail to leave premises when directed. It is alleged that on the 21st of May at approximately 4 pm the accused was causing a disturbance in the area of the fair at the Pee Wee fair grounds and the Great Northern Resort and Conference Centre and directed to leave by officers on duty at the fair. Shortly afterwards the youth attempted to gain entry into the trailer of the Campbell Amusement and was chased off by employees. A short time later, the accused returned once again and when being arrested by officers he resisted by pulling away and running away. He was quickly apprehended by officers and again refused to put his hands behind his back and attempted to kick at officers. It is further alleged that the accused spat at a fair employee that was assisting the arresting officer. The accused, who was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the offence, is to appear in bail court this morning.

Impaired Drivers Arrested:

1) 43 year-old Gordon Barnett of 46 Granada Dr in Simcoe Ontario was arrested at 1:19 am on the 22nd of May on Queen Street East and charged with one count impaired driving, one count of consume over the legal limit and two counts of breach of probation. It is alleged that just after 1 am on the 22nd of May officers on patrol observed the accused passed out inside his running vehicle on Queen Street East. After several attempts to wake the accused he stepped out of the vehicle and officers discovered he was under the influence of alcohol. He will appear in court on the 29th of June.

2) 46 year-old Donald Marshall of 25 Hess Street was arrested on the 21st of May at 11:35 pm on Albert Street West and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. It is alleged that on the 21st of May at approximately 11:15 pm the accused was operating a GMC Sierra pickup truck and while attempting to exit the parking lot of the Marconi Hall, his vehicle struck a parked vehicle in the lot. Witnesses, one of them an off duty city police officer, observed the collision and were able to stop the driver that was attempting to leave the scene. The accused was found to be under the influence of alcohol at the time and arrested. He is to appear in court on the 29th of June.

Theft from Vehicle:

A vehicle on Hamilton Avenue was entered and an air pump and a GPS unit was stole.
