The incident occurred in the Zellers Plaza at Great Northern Road and Northern Avenue. If you saw this crime take place or know who is responsible, call City Police at 949-6300. The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service would like to remind the public to pay attention to your purse and wallet when out shopping. While in a store do not leave your purse in your cart while you look at items. People commonly leave their purse in their cart, stand beside the cart but turn their back to their purse while shopping. While unloading your parcels, keep your purse on you or put it in your vehicle first. All it takes is a spilt second for thief to steal your purse. Once it is stolen, the thief has access to your cash, credit cards and may also have your house keys.
