One Person To Appear in Bail Court: 38-year-old Juanita Jackson of 277 Northern Avenue was arrested after turning herself in for an outstanding warrant.

One Person To Appear in Bail Court:

38-year-old Juanita Jackson of 277 Northern Avenue was arrested after turning herself in for an outstanding warrant.  It is alleged that she breached a condition of her Conditional Sentence by not adhering to a curfew.

Arrests:

A 46-year-old male was arresting and charged in regards to a domestic related incident where it is alleged that he assaulted his wife by pushing her.  He was released with a court date of the 25th of April 2012 at 9:00 a.m.

A 47-year-old male was arrested and charged in a family related matter involving a 15-year-old girl.  It is alleged that between July and September 2011 the accused had asked the victim to have sex with him and did have sex with her on several occasions.  He was charged with three counts of Sexual Interference and three counts of Invitation to Sexual touching.  He was released with a court date of the 23rd of April 2012 at 9:00 a.m.

19-year-old Randy Nahwagahbow of 24 Amherst Street was arrested after turning himself in for an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that he had failed to attend court.  He was released with a court date of the 30th of April 2012 at 9:00 a.m.

Break and Enters:

  • Two sheds were broken into on Silver Birch Drive.  A saw and gas can were stolen.
  • A residence in the 100 block of Henrietta Avenue.  Jewelry was stolen.
  • A business in the 900 block of Queen Street East.  Prescription medication was stolen.

Thefts and Property Crimes:

  • A Black Berry was stolen from a vehicle in the 400 Block of Borden Avenue.

Motor Vehicle Accident Resulting In Injuries:

A 70-year-old male was struck by a motor vehicle yesterday at approximately 7:28 a.m. as he was crossing McNabb Street just west of the Y.M.C.A.  The pedestrian was struck by an eastbound passenger van as he proceeded northbound across the roadway.  The male received serious injuries as a result of the collision. The matter is still under investigation by traffic services. The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service would like to remind pedestrians that they must utilize crosswalks where available and should maintain vigilance at all times.
