Break and Enter Yesterday afternoon at approx. 3:15 PM City Police were called to a residence in the 600 block of Portage Lane in regards to a break and enter.

Yesterday afternoon at approx. 3:15 PM City Police were called to a residence in the 600 block of Portage Lane in regards to a break and enter. Upon arrival officers discovered that the side door to the residence was forced and that a quantity of liquor was stolen.

Snowmachine Accident

Yesterday afternoon at approx. 1:30 PM City Police were called to attend the snow machine trail system north of Airport Rd. in regards to a snow machine accident with injuries. At this location the investigating officer discovered that a sled, being driven westbound on the trail, by a 12-year-old youth was unable to negotiate a turn. As a result the sled struck a tree and the snow machine operator sustained minor injuries in the collision. The operator was transported to the Sault Area Hospital for treatment. No charges were laid.

Drug Search

At approx. 3:50 PM yesterday afternoon the Joint Forces Drug Unit and Sault Ste Marie Police Street Team executed a Drug Search Warrant at an address in the 100 block of Frontenac St. At this location the officers found a large bag containing 226 grams of marihuana, a smaller bag containing 11.6 grams of marihuana, a marihuana cigarette and 434.5 grams of cannabis resin (Hash Oil)was also seized from the accused. As a result the resident, 41-year-old Roland Herman EDER, of Frontenac St. was charged with: Two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance and two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking. The street value of the drugs is estimated at $ 13,450.00. The accused will be appearing in court on Monday April 25th at 9:00 AM.

Motor Vehicle Collision

Approx. 1:55PM yesterday afternoon City Police were dispatched to the intersection of Trunk Rd and Boundary Rd. in regards to a motor vehicle collision. Upon investigating the collision officers suspected that one of the drivers involved had been drinking. As a result a roadside Breathalyzer was administered and the driver registerd a Fail. Charged with Drive Over .80mgs is: 62-year-old Percy Ross Clarke of Thessalon, Ont. He will be attending court on Monday April 25th at 9;00 AM.
