Police Car Collision Yesterday morning at approx. 11:10 AM a Sault Ste Marie City Police vehicle was involved in a motor vehicle collision. The accident took place at the intersection of Trunk Rd. and Black Rd.

Yesterday morning at approx. 11:10 AM a Sault Ste Marie City Police vehicle was involved in a motor vehicle collision. The accident took place at the intersection of Trunk Rd. and Black Rd. In the incident the police vehicle was proceeding south on Black Rd. and approaching a red traffic signal light. At this time the officer, who was responding to a domestic dispute, activated the emergency lights and siren and entered the intersection. As the police vehicle entered the intersection it struck an eastbound vehicle. As a result of the collision the driver of the eastbound vehicle suffered minimal injuries. The driver of the police car, Sonny Spina, age 25, was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with: Emergency Vehicle Proceed When Unsafe. He will be attending traffic Court on April 13th at 9:00 Am .The driver of the second vehicle, 85-year-old King Chow, attended at the hospital and was released.

Youth Charged with Mischief

Yesterday morning City Police were called to an address on Allard St. in regards to a dispute. Upon arrival officers found that the front door window, to the residence, had been broken. It is alleged that the 27-year-old accused attended at the residence and used a baseball bat to break the window. Charged with Mischief is Jason Romani, D.O.B.: 21 June 1977, of 496 Nelson St. He will be appearing in Court on Monday April 18th at 9:00 AM.
