Frank Caicco age 47 years of 596 Cooper St. will appear in bail court Monday. On the 8th of June 2012 Sault Ste. Marie Police Street Team Officers were conducting a Break and Enter Initiative in response to residential break - ins in the community. Officers had identified the accused, Frank Caicco as a suspect in the break- ins and were conducting surveillance. The accused was observed on this date riding a bicycle in the city’s north end. Street Team officers were able to follow the accused to 184 Old Goulais Bay Road where the accused attempted to kick in the side door. Officers moved in and arrested the accused prior to him gaining entry to the home. Caicco is charged with one count of attempt break and enter.

Officers responded to several bear calls again today. There were several calls this morning in the 1100 block of Old Goulais Bay Road regarding a bear that was scared off by police and returned. It was scared up a tree but was too high to risk tranquilizing by the MNR. Officers will only destroy an animal if it poses an immediate risk to the public’s safety and if the necessity to destroy the animal can be done in a manner that will not place the public in harm’s way. There were also calls to Westridge and Cedarwood streets for a bear in that area.
Bail Court Appearance Arrests/Charged Persons with Court Appearance Dates:
A 43 year old male will appear in bail court today for assault X 5 and threatening. These charges stem from domestic violence related incidents.

Amanda ARTUSO age 28 of 178 Wellington St. East was charged with 13 counts of fraud under $5000 and 10 counts of theft under $5000. It is alleged that between the 17 of March 2012 and the 29 of May 2012 the accused while working for a cell phone company in the station mall stole 10 cell phones and further fraudulently opened 13 accounts. She is scheduled to appear in court on July 9 2012 at 9:00 a.m.

On June 7 2012 patrol officers responded to a report of a suspicious person in the area of Charles St.. Upon arrival officers located a male inside a garage that had been broken into. Further investigation revealed that the male had broken into several other garages in the area and stolen several items. Charged with 4 counts of break and enter, two counts of possession of stolen property and two counts of theft under $5000 is Dusten Difillippo age 19 of 35 Sunnydale. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 9 2012.

- Police responded to three bear complaints in the area of Sharron Cr., Palomino Dr. and Fort Creek Dr.
- A report of a Break and Enter in the 100 block of Wellington St. East cash and jewelry was taken
