Two persons to appear in bail court

Early this morning members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 35-year-old male on three counts of threatening and one count of mischief. It is alleged that on May 25th 2010 the accused threatened to kill his ex-common-law wife and her parents and to cause damage to her home. It is further alleged that on May 25th 2010 the accused committed mischief to the victim’s couch by slashing it with a knife.

At approximately 10:00 pm last night members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 25-year-old male on two counts of breach of probation. It is alleged that the accused breached his probation order conditions by communicating with a female that he was prohibited from having any communication with and by not keeping the peace.

Male arrested for assault with a weapon

Yesterday evening members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 53-year-old male on two counts of assault with a weapon. It is alleged that the accused got into an argument with neighbours and threw a toilet tank at the complainants twice. The complainants were not injured in this incident. Charged with two counts of assault with a weapon is Paul Smith, age 53, of 103 Old Hwy 17 North, unit # 6. Mr. Smith will be appearing in court on July 19th at 9:00 am.

Male arrested for assault

Yesterday evening members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 27-year-old male for assault and breach of probation. It is alleged that the accused assaulted a male person by spitting on him. It is further alleged that the accused breached conditions of his probation order by not keeping the peace. Michael Mandigo, age 27, of 239 Northern Ave Unit # 1 is charged with one count of assault and one count of breach of probation. Mr. Smith will be appearing in court on July 19th at 9:00 am.

Male arrested for impaired driving

Last night at approximately 9:20 pm members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 21-year-old male for impaired driving. It is alleged that last evening the accused was operating his motor vehicle, on Trunk Rd. while his ability to do so was impaired by alcohol. Charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of drive over 80 mgs is Michael Pettit-Connell, age 21, of 26 Muriel Dr. Mr. Pettit-Connell will be appearing in court on July 19th at 9:00 am.

Male arrested for drive over 80 mgs

Last night at approximately 11:00 pm members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service attended at the scene of a motor vehicle collision on Wellington St. E. It is alleged that the accused was operating his vehicle, while under the influence of alcohol, and was involved in a motor collision. Charged with one count of drive over 80 mgs is Antonio Ribeiro, age 44, of 241 Huron St. Mr. Ribeiro will be appearing in court on July 19th at 9:00 am.

Mischief

Vehicles were damaged in the 800 block of Fourth Line W and the 100 block of Carufel Ave.

Theft
Construction equipment was stolen from the 100 block of Black Rd. Tools were stolen from the 100 block of John St.
Electronics were stolen from a vehicle in then 100 block of The Drive.
