Numerous Charges Laid Against Male Yesterday morning at approx. 10:30 AM City Police attended at 429 Whitney St and arrested 39 year old Geoffrey Scott Chammings. It is alleged that on Feb 20th and 22nd Mr.

Yesterday morning at approx. 10:30 AM City Police attended at 429 Whitney St and arrested 39 year old Geoffrey Scott Chammings. It is alleged that on Feb 20th and 22nd Mr. Chammings attended at the Mac’s Mart on Gore St. and stole a quantity of confectionary items. It is further alleged that on June 21st the accused attended at the Zellers Store on Northern Ave and stole approx. 20 DVD’s valued at about $ 500.00. The accused fled then scene in a vehicle. On Wed. July 7th Mr. Chammings was located at his home and arrested on warrants. Investigating officers subsequently charged the accused with the following offences:

1.Theft Under $ 5,000. – 3 counts.
2. Fail to Appear for Fingerprints – 3 counts.
3. Theft Under $ 5,000. – for an incident in March 2005.

Mr. Chammings will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 AM.

Mischief Cpmplaint

At approx. 4:00 AM this morning City Police were called to attend at the Burger King Restaurant regarding a mischief complaint. Officers were given the description of a suspect and on route to the call officers located the suspect. Charged with Mischief Under $ 5,000. is 19-year-old Nicholas Adam Huyghe, of 1039 Prince Lake Rd. He will be appearing in court on Monday Aug. 15th at 9:00 AM.

Unlawfully at Large

Yesterday evening at approx. 5:40 PM City Police attended at 18 Pozzebon Cr. And arrested 24-year-old Candice Lee Mitchell for Being Unlawfully at Large. It is alleged that Ms. Mitchell failed to return to The Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre as per her release documents. She will be appearing in Bail Court at 10:00 AM today.

Theft from Vehicle

In other news City Police are investigating a theft from a vehicle from overnight. A car parked in the 100 block of Pentagon Blvd was entered and a cell phone was stolen.

Home Egged

City Police are also investigating a mischief complaint where a home in the 100 block of Elliott Rd. was egged. Police note that there is a marked increase in this type of offence since the start of the summer holidays. The public is reminded that this may seem like a prank but it still is a criminal offence. Something this foolish is not worth getting a criminal record over.
