Man Arrested for Assault Yesterday afternoon city police arrested Kim Mancuso, age 35, of 196 James St. Apt #5 and charged him with one count of assault with a weapon and one count of threatening death.

Yesterday afternoon city police arrested Kim Mancuso, age 35, of 196 James St. Apt #5 and charged him with one count of assault with a weapon and one count of threatening death. It is alleged that on Monday June 30th at approx. 12:30 am the accused got into an argument with a male known to him. During the argument the accused pulled out a small knife and used it to strike the victim on the head. The accused is also alleged to have threatened to kill the victim. The incident occurred in the downtown area. The victim suffered a 2” laceration to his head but refuse medical attention. The accused will be appearing in court on Aug. 11th at 9:00 am.

Male Arrested for Theft

Yesterday at approx.10:10 am city police attended at Rome’s Independent Grocers and arrested a male for theft under $ 5,000.00. It is alleged that at approx. 10:00 am the accused entered Rome’s selected a quantity of razor blades and then left the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. The accused was arrested outside the store by store security. Craig Herriman, age 55, of 138 East St. is charged with one count of theft under
$ 5,000.00 and will be appearing in court on Aug.11th at 9:00 am.

Youth Arrested for Breaching Conditions

At approx. 2:00 am this morning city police arrested a 15-year-old male and charged him with one count of breach of an undertaking and one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that the accused, who was on an undertaking release order with a curfew of 10:00 pm breached that condition. At the time of this offence the accused was also on probation with conditions to keep the peace. The accused will be appearing in court on
Aug 5th at 9:30 am.

Youth Arrested for Theft

Yesterday afternoon city police arrested a 14-year-old youth and charged him with theft under $ 5,000.00. It is alleged that at approx. 3:00 pm yesterday the accused entered the Zellers Store, in the Station Mall and stole a pair of running shoes. The accused was arrested by store security and turned over to city police. He will be appearing in court on Aug 5th at 9:30 am. The shoes were valued at approx. $ 45.00.

Break and Enter

A break and enter was reported at a residence in the 100 block of Albert St.E. Electronics and tools were stolen.

Thefts

Bicycles were reported stolen from the 100 block of Pentagon Blvd and the 100 block of Second Line W.
A 12’ aluminum boat was stolen from a backyard in the 300 block of Morin St.
A BBQ propane tank was stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Bruce St.
A purse was reported stolen from a Laundromat in the 600 block of Trunk Rd.

Stolen Money

A Good Samaritan was the victim of a theft yesterday afternoon. Yesterday at approx. 4:00 pm a female came to the victim’s residence, in the 500 block of Albert St. W. and requested to use the phone. The victim allowed the suspect into her home to use the phone and when the suspect left the victim noticed that an envelope containing money was missing.

The Sault Ste Marie Police Service wants to remind the public to be cautious about letting strangers into your home. Don’t let anyone into your home if you are alone. If they have to use a phone hand them a portable phone outside your home.
