Triple Robbery Suspect Caught The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service has arrested a male suspect in connection with the three armed robberies that occurred at the Mac’s Convenience Store on Gore Street on the 26th of July 2007.

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service has arrested a male suspect in connection with the three armed robberies that occurred at the Mac’s Convenience Store on Gore Street on the 26th of July 2007.

Arrested and charged for the three armed robberies is;

ROBERTSON, Christopher, Kelly
205 Wellington Street East – SSM
24 years of age

The investigation is continuing, however ROBERTSON is the only suspect in these incidents at this time.

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service would like to thank the members of the public for the assistance provided in this investigation. Their assistance is greatly appreciated.

UPDATE: Stolen Truck Pursuit

The following two persons were arrested and charged with the following;

1) 18 year-old Andrew Pomber of #8-171 Willow Avenue has been charged with three counts of possession of property obtained by crime, two counts of theft over $5,000.00, one count of theft under $5,000.00, one count of mischief over $5,000.00 and one count of breach of probation. At the time of the offence the accused was on probation to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

2) The 16 year-old male youth has been charged with three counts of possession of property obtained by crime, one count of theft under $5,000.00, two counts of theft over $5,000.00, one count of mischief over $5,000.00, one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, one count of flight from police, one count of breach of a release document and one count of breach of probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. At the time of the offence this accused was on court release conditions not to possess any ammunition from a previous charge and when arrested he was in possession of two rounds of ammunition. The accused was also on probation conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

Youth's Charged with Break & Enter & Possession

Two male youths ages 16 and 17 were arrested around 1:04 this morning on Frontenac Street and both charged with one count of break, enter and commit, one count of possession of property obtained by crime and one count of possession of housebreaking tools. It is alleged that the two broke into a residence in the 100 block of Trunk Road on the 27th of July just before 1 am and stole a lighter. The male homeowner was home at the time and called police when he saw lights going on in his basement. The suspects fled when discovering the homeowner was home. The Canine Unit attended and tracked the two youths to Frontenac Street where the arrest was made at 1:04 am. At the time of arrest the 16 year-old was found to be in possession of a tire iron.

Assault Causing Bodily Harm

46 year-old Robert Richardson of 433 Wellington Street East was arrested at his residence around 1:33 am this morning and charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm. It is alleged that the accused became upset with a neighbour that was playing a stereo loudly, attended at his residence and punched the male victim, known to him, several times in the face, breaking his nose. The victim had to be treated at the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Assault & Breach

48 year-old Leta Hansen of #3-125 Gore Street was arrested just before 8 pm on the 26th of July at her residence and charged with one count of assault and one count of breach of a release document. It is alleged that the accused attended at her female neighbour’s residence, an argument ensued and she assaulted her by pushing her and slapping her in the face. No injuries were reported.

Possession, Forged Documents, Fraud & More

35 year-old Rodney Ryan of 220 Alexandra Street (main floor) was arrested at 3:25 pm on he 26th of July on Hudson Street and charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime, one count of uttering a forged document, one count of fraud, one count of personation with intent and one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance. It is alleged that on the 6th of July the accused attended at the RBC on Wellington Street Branch with a stolen money order in the name of the male victim and cashed the order in the sum of $500.00. It is further alleged that the accused endorsed the back of the money order by signing the victim’s name and then produced identification with the victim’s information on it. The accused was captured on video at the time.

Threatening Death & Bodily Harm

1) 39 year-old Shawn Husband of #114-40 Hynes Street was arrested just before 11 pm on the 26th of July at his residence and charged with one count of threaten death or bodily harm. It is alleged that on the 26th of July between the hours of 9 am and 7:30 pm the accused called the male victim known to him, forty times and made several threats to kick his head in and make his mother’s life bad.

2) 33 year-old Barry Clark of 9 Bay Road was arrested on outstanding warrants on the 26th of July at 2 pm and charged with one count threatening death or bodily harm and one count of mischief from an incident on the 25th of July where the accused threatened to kill a male known to him. He is to appear in court on the 10th of September.

Impaired Driving

42 year-old Kenneth Brewer of #104-1582 Bathurst Street in Toronto, Ontario was arrested at 10:42 pm on the 26th of July on Dennis Street and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. It is alleged that the accused was stopped by city police in a laneway off Dennis Street and when officers approached the accused, he immediately exited the vehicle and began to sway and stumble. The accused was found to be under the influence of alcohol. He is to appear in court on the 10th of September.

Assault with a Weapon

50 year-old Harold Watkins of 261 Mcnabb Street was arrested at 5:25 pm on the 26th of July on Mcnabb Street and charged with one count of assault with a weapon. It is alleged that on the 26th of July just before 5 pm the accused attended at central area residence of the male victim who his known to him, an argument ensued and the accused struck the victim in the head with a broom handle. The victim received non-life threatening injuries. He is to appear in court on the 10th of September.

The following break and enters were reported yesterday and overnight:

(1) Five sheds were entered in the Bristol Place and Sutton Street area. It is not known at this time what was stolen. The sheds wee entered sometime on the 26th of July.

(2) A shed on Essex Lane was entered on the 26th of July and a bike was reported stolen.

(3) The Queen’s Gate Golf Course Pro Shop alarm was activated this morning around 1:28 am and officers discovered a broken window upon arrival. Officers, with assistance of the Canine Unit searched the area but were unable to locate anyone. It is not known at this time if anything was stolen.
