Female to appear in bail court Early this morning members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 20-year-old female for assaulting a police officer.

Early this morning members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 20-year-old female for assaulting a police officer. It is alleged that at approximately 4:30 am city police officers located the accused on Breton Rd in an intoxicated condition. Officers arrested the accused, for being intoxicated in a public place and transported her to the station. It is further alleged that once at the station the accused assaulted an officer by kicking him. Sasha Daigle, age 20, of 579 Kingsway, Sudbury, Ontario is charged with one count of assault police.

Young male arrested for aggravated assault

Yesterday afternoon members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 16-year-old male for assault. It is alleged that on July 8th the accused assaulted a male person, known to him, by hitting him several times about the face and head area. Victim suffered injuries that required medical attention. The accused is charged with one count of aggravated assault. He will be appearing in court on Aug 24th at 9:30 am.

Male arrested for possession of a controlled substance

Yesterday morning members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 36-year-old male for possession of a controlled substance. It is alleged that the accused was in possession of 8 grams of marihuana. David Gingras, age 36, of 2122 Mission Rd, Goulais River, is charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance. Mr. Gingras will be appearing in court on Aug 23rd at 9:00 am.

Male arrested for theft, possession of property obtained by crime and personation

Yesterday morning members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 26-year-old male for personation, theft and possession of stolen property. It is alleged that the accused male attended at a local bank, with a stolen passport, and attempted to open a bank account in that person’s name. Noel Gagnon, age 26, of 125 Wellington St. W. is charged with one count of possession of stolen property, one count of theft under $ 5,000 and one count of personation. Mr. Gagnon will be appearing in court on Aug 23rd at 9:00 am.

Break and enter

A break and enter was reported to the Trading Post at 1332 Great Northern Rd. Lottery tickets and a small amount of cash was taken. A male suspect was seen leave the premises. Suspect is described as male, 5”4” tall wearing a dark hoody and jeans. A break and enter was reported to a residence in the 100 block of Chartwell Dr. Nothing was reported stolen. An attempted break and enter occurred in the 100 block of Queensgate Blvd.

Theft

Vehicles were entered in the following locations:
The100 block of Muriel Dr. - cash was taken.
The 300 block of River Rd. –unknown what was taken.
The 500 block of Wellington St. W. - unknown what was taken.
Several vehicles were entered in the 3900 block of Queen St. E. –identification and cash were taken.
Sheds and vehicles were entered at several locations in the 100 block of Adelaide St. – a bike and gas cans were reported taken.

Mischief

Lawn ornaments were damaged in the 100 block of Idaho Dr.
