One person to appear in bail court: Yesterday afternoon city police arrested Grant Mullen, age 49, of 48 Smale Ave and charged him with two counts of fail to appear for identification.
One person to appear in bail court:

Yesterday afternoon city police arrested Grant Mullen, age 49, of 48 Smale Ave and charged him with two counts of fail to appear for identification. It is alleged that the accused failed to attend at the city police station for fingerprints on July 8th and again on July 10th.

Man arrested for assault:

Last evening at approx. 9:50 pm city police arrested 41-year-old Dennis Gibbs, of 60 Robertson Lake Rd., Goulais River, and charged him with one count of assault. It is alleged that the accused assaulted a male person, known to him, by punching him in the face. The incident occurred yesterday morning. The victim did not require medical attention.

Break and enter:

An apartment in the 100 block of Old Garden River Rd was entered yesterday evening. The complainant reports that he left his apartment to go to the laundry room and upon his returned he discovered that someone had entered and stole a quantity of his prescriptions.

Thefts:

City police received three theft reports yesterday.

1. A vehicle parked at the Station Mall was entered and personal papers; a driver’s licence and a passport were stolen.

2. A wallet was stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Birch St. - money and person identification were lost.

3. Two bicycles were reported stolen from the 100 block of Lorna Dr.

Community Day Parade:

The public is reminded that the Community Day Parade will be taking place tomorrow morning. As a result several city streets will be closed to traffic from 9:00 am until approx. 12:30 pm.
Queen St. E. will be closed from Lake St. to Andrew St.
Vehicles parked on Queen St. E. should be removed from the street by 8:00 am.
Wellington St. E. is closed from Pine St. to Lake St. - due to construction. Detour signs will be posted to assist motorist around the construction sites.
Eastbound Wellington St.E. traffic will be able to use Pine St. as an alternate route.
Motorists are reminded that once the parade commences vehicles parked south of Queen St. will not be able to cross the parade route. Parking north of Queen St. E. and walking to your destination is highly recommended.
All stores and businesses will remain open during the parade.

Queen St. Closure Reminder:

Tonight between 6:30 pm and 12:00 pm Queen St. E. will be closed from East St. to Dennis St. This is to allow the Downtown Association to hold its annual late night shopping event. Vehicular traffic will not be permitted to travel along or across Queen St.E. between these two locations. The Station Mall will still be accessible via Dennis St, Tancred St. or Andrew St.
