Drug Warrant Arrest
On the 6th of January at 9:00 am members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Street Team, Emergency Services Unit and Canine Unit executed a search warrant at the residence of Jeffrey O'Laney at 1600 Wellington Street East- basement. During the course of the search officers located 1914 grams of cannabis marijuana for the purpose of trafficking, packaging materials, digital scales and a small amount of cash- offence related property.

Officers further located 89 grams of cannabis marijuana and 4 grams of cannabis hashish, both for personal use. As a result, 23 year-old Jeffrey O'Laney was charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of possession of a controlled drug or substance. He is to appear in bail court this morning. The estimated street value of the drugs seized is $40,140.

Male Arrested for Robbery
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 21 year-old Jordon Morrar of 36 Nichol Avenue at 2:55 am this morning at his residence and charged him with one count of robbery, one count of possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose and one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance. It is alleged that on the 7th of January at approximately 1:40 am the accused was in the area of Second Line West near Nichol Avenue and requested a ride from a male known to him. Once inside the male’s vehicle, the accused demanded him to get out, sprayed him in the face with mace and robbed the victim of some cash and lottery tickets.

The accused was found in possession of a small amount of cocaine at the time of his arrest. The victim received non-life threatening injuries as a result, not requiring medical attention. The accused is to attend in bail court this morning.

Two Domestic Related Arrests
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 43 year-old male on the 6th of January at 7:30 am at his residence and charged him with one count of assault and one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance. It is alleged that officers responded to a domestic dispute at a centrally located residence yesterday morning and discovered that the accused had assaulted his wife. At the time of his arrest, the accused was found in possession of a small amount of marijuana. The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.

Officers with the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 31 year-old male at 4:04 pm yesterday and charged him with one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged that on the 6th of January the accused got into a verbal argument with his girlfriend at her residence and stole her cell phone, some cash and left. The accused is to appear in court on the 9th of February.

Break and Enter
A second break and enter was reported to the compound at the CDI Machine Shop on McNabb Street yesterday morning. Suspects entered the compound sometime between 6:00 pm on Wednesday night and 9:30 am Thursday morning. Two 12 foot lengths of rolled aluminum scrap sheets and approximately four pieces of flat steel plating were reported stolen.
