Five persons to appear in bail court: Yesterday morning members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 20-year-old male for breaching his probation.

Five persons to appear in bail court:

Yesterday morning members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 20-year-old male for breaching his probation. It is alleged that the accused breached the conditions of his probation by failing to report to his probation officer between November 24th and December 13th.  Damon L’Heureux, age 20, of no fixed address is charged with one count of breach of probation.

Yesterday evening members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 29-year-old male for threatening and breach of probation. It is alleged that while in custody at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre the accused threatened to harm staff members and also to damage their vehicles. At the time of these offences the accused was on probation. Henry Cadreau, age 29, of no fixed address is charged with two counts of threatening and one count of breach of probation.

Yesterday afternoon members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Street team, the Emergency Services Unit and the Ontario Provincial Police Canine Unit executed a drug search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of St. Georges Ave. W. It is alleged that officers, in searching the residence located 2.9 grams of marihuana, .5 grams of cannabis resin, oxycontin, percocet, lorazepam, hydromorphone and morphine pills. As a result of the drug seizure four persons were arrested.

1. Terrance Neville, age 46, of 163 St. George’s Ave W is charged with five counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

2.  Laurie Cole, age 44, of 163 St. George’s Ave W is charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

The street value of the drugs seized is $ 3,300.00

It is further alleged that two other males, that were present when the search warrant was executed, were also in possession of a controlled substance.

Chris Cole, age 19, of St. George’s Ave W is alleged to have been in possession of .5 grams of marihuana and is charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance. Mr. Cole is to appear in court on February 13th at 9:00 am.

Christopher Sullivan, age 38, of 441 Queen St. E. is alleged to have been in possession of 3.5 grams of marihuana and is charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance. Mr. Sullivan is to appear in court on February 13th at 9:00 am.

Female arrested on a warrant:

Yesterday afternoon members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 37–year-old female on a warrant for failing to appear for court. It is alleged that the accused failed to appear in court on December 19th 2011 on a charge of obstruct police. Crystal L’Heureux, age 37, of 75 James St. is charged with one count of failing to appear for court. Ms. L’Heureux is to appear for court on February 13th at 9:00 am.

Youth arrested for breach and possession

Last night members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 13-year-old male for breach of probation, possession of a controlled substance and breach of an undertaking. It is alleged that the accused male was at the Station Mall while on conditions to remain away from the mall. As a result the accused was arrested by mall security and turned over to city police. It is further alleged that arresting officers found marihuana on the accused. Further at the time of theses offences the accused was on a probation order release with conditions to stay away from the Station Mall and to keep the peace. The accused is charged with one count of breach of an undertaking, one count of breach of probation and one count of possession of a controlled substance.

Break and enter:

City police attended at four reported break and enters yesterday. Break-ins were reported at the following locations:

1. The 100 block of Breton Rd. It is unknown what was taken.

2. The 500 block of Northland Rd. Cash and jewellery were reported stolen.

3. The 700 block of Lennox Ave. Medications and electronic items were stolen.

4. The 100 block of Elmwood Ave. Two young males were seen running from the residence at about 6:30 pm. Jewellery was reported stolen.

Mischief:

 A residence and a commercial property were spray painted with graffiti in the 100 block of Poplar St.
