Male Arrested for Break and Enter and Drug Possession:
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 56 year-old Michael O’Hara of 24 Root River Trailer Park on the 27th of January at 3:02 pm and charged him with one count of break and enter and one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance. It is alleged that at approximately 2:49 am on the 27th of January the accused broke into a residence on Patrick Street. The homeowner was home at the time and called police when the accused entered the home. The accused fled on foot but was quickly located by officers in the area and arrested. He is to appear in bail court this morning.
Domestic Related Arrests:
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 24 year-old male on the 26th of January at 8 pm at the police station and charged him with one count of mischief under $5,000. It alleged that on the 25th of January the accused got into a dispute with his ex-girlfriend at his residence and when she was leaving in a friend’s vehicle, he damaged the car by jumping on the hood. The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.
Search Warrant Results in Two Persons Arrested with Drug Offences:
Last evening, members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service Street Team, Emergency Services Unit and the Ontario Provincial Police Canine Unit executed a search warrant at the residence of Frederick Decaire and Leah Stone, located at 25 Grace Street.
During the course of the search officers located 11 grams of cannabis marihuana in 10 individual 1 gram baggies for sale at the street level, 24 grams of cocaine packaged in 47 individual baggies for resale at the street level, packaging materials, Canadian currency and a digital scale. Further, a gram of cannabis marihuana was found in the coat of Frederick Decaire.
As a result 41 year-old Frederick Decaire was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a controlled drug or substance for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance. He is to appear in bail court this morning.
Leah Stone, age 35, was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled drug or substance for the purpose of trafficking. She is to appear in court on the 27th of February.
The estimated street value of the drugs seized is $2620.00.
Male Arrested for Break and Enter and Possession Stolen Property:
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 22 year-old Lucien Charette of 229 Poplar Avenue on the 26th of January at 3:15 pm and charged him with one count of break and enter and one count of possession of property obtained by crime. It is alleged that on the 25th of January at approximately 1:37 am the accused broke into a storage shed at business on McNabb Street and stole a number of construction tools and a set of keys. The accused later pawned the items at a local pawn shop. The stolen property was located and recovered by police at the pawn shop on the 26th of January and the accused was subsequently charged. He is to appear in court on the 27th of February.
Break and Enter/Thefts Reports:
- A residence on Shannon Road was broken into on the 26th of January. Jewellery was stolen.
- An attempted break and enter was reported to a residence on Clement Street.
- Numerous licence plates were stolen from a property on Borron Avenue.
- An i-Pad was stolen from a local school yesterday.
