Mishchief under $5000 30-year old Jamie Bailey of 20 Timothy Place will appear in bail court this morning. It is alleged that last evening the accused kicked a glass window in the entrance of an address in the 500 block of Albert Street West.

30-year old Jamie Bailey of 20 Timothy Place will appear in bail court this morning. It is alleged that last evening the accused kicked a glass window in the entrance of an address in the 500 block of Albert Street West. A query by the officers who attended also revealed that the accused had failed to notify a change of address as required by a release document. The accused has been charged with one count of mischief under $5,000 and one count of breach of a release order.

Youth Charged with Two Counts of Assault

A 17-year old youth was arrested yesterday afternoon and charged with two counts of assault, one count of breach of probation and one count of forcible confinement. It is alleged that the accused assaulted another youth in the east end of town by pushing and kicking the victim. It is further alleged that the accused would not let the victim leave the residence in which they were in for several minutes. The accused and victim are known to each other. The youth will appear in bail court this morning.

Bomb Threat

Just before 10 pm last night 47-year old Dennis Mitri of 157 Albert Street East attended at the Shopper’s Drug Mart located at 44 Great Northern Road. It is alleged that the accused alluded to a bomb and demanded that money be handed over. The male left the store empty handed. The accused was arrested in the mall parking lot area and charged with one count of robbery. He will appear in court on February 27th.

Break and Enter

Yesterday City Police received a report of a break and enter to F. R. Mills Centre located at 240 St. George’s Avenue East. The break and enter occurred between 10 pm on the 18th of January and 8 am on the 20th. Thieves made off with 4 IBM laptops.

Motor Vehicle Collisions

City Police attended for 2 motor vehicle collisions involving trains yesterday. Fortunately no one was injured in either incident:

Just before 7 am a Huron Central Railway train was westbound on the tracks at Huron Street and St. Andrews Terrace with the flashing lights activated. It is alleged that a pickup truck operated by Ronnie Guzzo of 381 Cathcart Street was northbound on Huron Street and slid through the intersection, colliding with the train. The Guzzo vehicle then rotated and struck a van operated by Barbara Thibault of 116 Pozzebon Crescent, which was stopped waiting for the train to clear the intersection. The Guzzo vehicle sustained severe damage and the Thibault vehicle sustained light damage. No charges have been laid at this time.

Last evening just before 6 pm a Canadian National Railway train was eastbound on the tracks at Peoples Road. It is alleged that a van operated by Jacob Meyers of 807 Goulais Bay Road was traveling southbound on Peoples Road and stopped for the activated signals, but was stopped on the tracks. The train collided with the vehicle. The Meyers vehicle sustained severe damage. Mr. Meyers has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario with one count of disobey railway crossing sign-stop in wrong spot.
