Male to appear in Bail Court: Yesterday evening at approx. 10:20 pm the Ontario Provincial Police arrested Daniel Greco, age, 43 on a warrant held by the Sault Ste Marie Police Service.
Male to appear in Bail Court:

Yesterday evening at approx. 10:20 pm the Ontario Provincial Police arrested Daniel Greco, age, 43 on a warrant held by the Sault Ste Marie Police Service. It is alleged that the accused breached two conditions of his probation order on January 14th, 2009. The breaches consisted of failing to notify police of his change of address and by failing to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. Daniel Greco, age 43 of 222 Albert St. E is charged with two counts of breach of probation.

Youth arrested for failing to appear for identification:

Early this morning city police officers arrested a 14-year-old male and charged him with one count of failing to appear for identification purposes. It is alleged that the accused failed to attend at the city police station on January 8th 2009 for fingerprints and photographs. He will be appearing in court on February 17th at 9:30 am.

Youth charged with possession of a controlled substance:

Yesterday afternoon city police were called to a local high school regarding a drug complaint. As a result of a police investigation a 15-year-old male was arrested and charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance and one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that the accused was in possession of marihuana while at the high school. At the time of the offence the accused was also on probation. The accused will be appearing in court on February 3rd at 9:30 am.

Break and Enter


The Sault Ste Marie Police Service was called to investigate two break and enters yesterday evening.
A break-in was reported to a residence in the 200 block of Prentice Ave – money and jewelry was taken.
An apartment in the 100 block of Turner Ave was also broken into yesterday evening. Jewelry was taken from this break- in.

The two break-ins occurred between the hours of 6:30 pm and 11:00 pm. At this time the Sault Ste Marie Police Service would like to ask for the public’s assistance in locating any suspects on these occurrences. Anyone having information or having seen any suspicious persons, in the area, last night is asked to call the Sault Ste Marie Police Service at 949-6300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222- TIPS.

Mischief

The front door of Algoma Business Computers, located at 417 Trunk Rd, was reported damaged last evening.
