Male Wanted On Outstanding Warrants Last evening officers from Patrol Services and the Street Team were assisted by the Canine Unit and Police Dog Tazer in tracking a 31-year old male wanted on outstanding warrants from incidents in December of 2005.
Male Wanted On Outstanding Warrants

Last evening officers from Patrol Services and the Street Team were assisted by the Canine Unit and Police Dog Tazer in tracking a 31-year old male wanted on outstanding warrants from incidents in December of 2005. Officers received information that the male may be in a centrally located residence. It is alleged that the accused was in a residence but would not come to the door. It if further alleged that the male left the residence via the back entrance and as a result Tazer was called in to assist and successfully tracked the male to a short distance away. It is alleged that in December the accused called his then ex-girlfriend a number of times as well as leaving a phone message that he would kill her. At the time of the incident the accused was on probation with conditions not to molest harass or annoy the victim. It is further alleged that the male was wanted for unlawfully at large for failing to return to the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre in December of 2005. During the time in December that officers were looking for the accused for a number of charges they attended at a downtown motel were the accused had been staying. They had been contacted by the owner of the establishment due to possible narcotics that were in the room that the accused had been staying in but had since be evicted from. When the owner went to pack of the belonging of the accused he came across the narcotics. Officers seized a quantity of oxycontin tablets. The accused has been charged with one count of criminal harassment, one count of threatening to cause death or bodily harm, three counts of breach of probation, one count of unlawfully at large and one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance. The accused will appear in bail court this morning.

Domestic Assault

A 29-year old male will appear in bail court on Monday January 16th. Just before 4 am this morning officers attended at a downtown residence in regards to a domestic assault. It is alleged that a 29-year old male assaulted his girlfriend by grabbing her and dragging her around her residence by her arms and hair. It is further alleged that the accused grabbed the victim by the neck and held a knife to her throat. It is also alleged that the accused threatened to kill the victim. During the course of the altercation it is alleged that the accused also damaged the door to the victim’s bathroom and also ripped off the toilet seat. The male has been charged with one count of assault, one count of mischief under $5,000, one count of assault with a weapon and one count of threatening to cause death or bodily harm. The victim received minor injuries but did not require medical treatment at the time of the incident.

Male Assaults Girlfriend

A 50-year old male was arrested last evening after it is alleged that he assaulted his girlfriend while in a downtown residence. It is alleged that the accused slapped the victim in the face. The male has been charged with one count of assault and will appear in court on February 13th.

Impaired Driver

35-year old Craig Blackburn of 2032 Canoe Point Road, Richards Landing was arrested just after 2 am this morning and will appear in bail court this morning. Just after 2 am a citizen called in to report a possible impaired driver in the downtown area. Officers located the vehicle in a parking lot at the corner of Great Northern Road and Pim Street. When the officers arrested the accused for impaired driving it is alleged that the accused refused to answer any questions as well as refusing to put his hands behind his back to be handcuffed. The male was eventually handcuffed after some resistance. A query of the accused also revealed that he was on a release document with conditions not to associate with a female who was a passenger in the car, as well as not to consume alcohol. Mr. Blackburn has been charged with one count of impaired driving, one count of consume over the legal limit, one count of resist police and two counts of breach of a release order.
