On 20th of October 2008 City police received a call regarding an armed robbery in progress at 8:36 pm to the Pisa Pizza on Second Line West. Information received was that a male armed with a handgun entered the business, pointed the gun at the employee and demanded cash. The employee gave the male an undisclosed amount of cash and when the suspect was leaving, he got into a grey coloured car, possibly a Ford Tempo, with a male passenger waiting inside. The suspect vehicle sped off in a westbound direction.

Officers checking the area, located the suspect vehicle a short time later, abandoned in the St. Joseph the Worker Church parking lot on Arden Street. A search of the area was conducted, but the suspects were not located.
The armed suspect was described as being a male in his early 20’s, 6’2”, short hair, unshaven, slim build, wearing a dark hoodie, a white hat, jeans and white running shoes.
No description was provided for the second suspect waiting in the vehicle.
No injuries were reported.

On The 26th of February 2009 City Police officer’s arrested 24 year old Myles Jordan Ketola of no fixed address. He will appear in bail court today at 10:00 am. He has been charged with robbery with a firearm as well as two counts of breach of probation.

Assault and Mischief

A 30 year old male will appear in bail court today at 10:00 am charged with assaulting his girlfriend by punching her. When the victim attempted to call the police the accused took the telephone and damaged it as well as the phone jack. The victim suffered minor injuries. The accused has been charged with one count of assault and one count of mischief.

Assault, mischief and 3 counts of theft under

A 14 year old male will appear in court on the 31st March 2009. It is alleged that the accused assaulted a family member and that during this same event caused damage to the home by smashing holes in the wall. It is further alleged that the accused took a bank card and made 3 unauthorized withdrawals.
He has been charged with assault, mischief and 3 counts of theft under.

Calls of person going through parked vehicles

City Police responded overnight to calls of person going through parked vehicles. These occurrences were on Birchland Court and the Legion parking lot on Great Northern Road. Nothing was reported taken.

Mischief

Police responded to one call in regards to mischief. It is reported that a house in the 700 block of Second Line west was egged last night.
