On December 28, 2012 at 12:10 pm Patrol Officers were called to the Pee Wee Arena Parking Lot on Northern Ave. Officers learned that thieves smashed a window of a vehicle in the parking lot and stole a purse.

In a separate theft occurrence from December 28, 2012, thieves made off with a ring from a residence in the 100 block of Stevens St.

At shortly after 11:00 am on December 28, 2012 Police Officers were called to the Walmart Store in the Station Mall at 293 Bay St. Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario for a shoplifting complaint. Officers arrested and charged Carol Gagnon, age 18 of 334 Second Ave. Sault Ste. Marie with Theft under $5,000.00. She will appear in court on Feb. 4th, 2013.

A 25 year old female was arrested and charged with mischief after a domestic dispute ended with a confrontation between parties known to her and her estranged spouse and a smashed Christmas tree.

A break and enter was reported to a residence in the 1300 block of Peoples Road between 7 am and 5 pm on 27 December 2012.  Entry was gained by kicking in a side door to the residence.  Taken were several items of jewelry and cash.  The house was described as ransacked.

A break and enter was reported on Strand Avenue where computer equipment and electronics were taken.

A break and enter was reported in the 400 block of Connaught Avenue having occurred between 7 pm on 26 December 2012 and 8 pm on 27 December 2012.  A back door was found smashed open and it is unknown what is missing as the homeowners were out of town.  It appears that a computer appears to have been taken.

A break and enter was report on Abbott Street between 9 am and 5 pm on 27 December 2012.  Taken was an Xbox system and jewelry.

A 33 year old male was arrested and charged for breach of a recognizance for following and talking to his former girlfriend when he was on conditions of that recognizance not to communicate with her.  He had been recently charged with assaulting the same complainant.  He will appear in bail court this morning.
