Male Charged with Assault

A 27-year old male was arrested yesterday afternoon and charged with one count of threatening and two counts of assault. It is alleged that on the 7th of December the accused assaulted his common-law girlfriend by pushing her on the head and pushing her towards the floor. It is further alleged that on the 14th of December the accused assaulted the victim by pinching her on the ear and raising a fist at her, as well as threatening her. The incidents occurred in the couples centrally located residence.

Three Counts of Breach of Probation

34-year old Andrew Sutherland of basement apt-432 Wellington St East was arrested just after 8 pm last night. It is alleged that the accused was in an intoxicated condition in the front lobby of an apartment building on Borron Avenue. When spoken to by the Police the accused alleged provided a false name. When the accused was taken into custody it is alleged that the male threatened to shoot one of the officers with a shotgun, and allegedly told another officer that he would hunt down that officer when the officer was not working. When the officers went to place the accused in the cell area, it is alleged that he resisted. At the time of the offence the accused was on 2 probation orders with terms to keep the peace and not to consume alcohol. Mr. Sutherland has been charged with one count of obstruct police, two counts of threatening to cause death or bodily harm, one count of resist arrest and three counts of breach of probation.


Male Wanted on Outstanding Warrants

29-year old Roger Vienneau of 271 Highway 17 North, Heyden was arrested just after midnight after officers stopped the accused in his vehicle at the Great Northern Road and Sixth Line. Officers learned that the accused was wanted on outstanding warrants for theft under $5,000 and fail to attend court. It was learned that the accused was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be good as well as to notify a change of address. Mr. Vienneau was also charged with 2 counts of breach of probation.


Youth Caught Entering Vehicles

A 17-year old youth was arrested shortly after 3 am this morning. It is alleged that the accused attempted to enter several vehicles in a parking lot in the 200 Albert Street East but did not obtain anything. The accused has been charged with one count of attempt theft under $5,000.


City Police received two reports of break and enters yesterday:

1) Between 8 and 8:30 pm last night persons entered a home in the 700 block of Douglas Street and took an X-box, 2 games and an attachment.

2) Shortly before 11 pm last night the Community Alcohol Drug Assessment Office located at 63 East Street was entered. A 42” television was taken. A two toned pickup truck was seen leaving the area. The incident is still under investigation.
