Domestic Related Arrest A 43 year-old male was arrested on the 10th of December at 10:15 pm at the city police station and charged with three counts of assault and two counts of threaten death or bodily harm.

A 43 year-old male was arrested on the 10th of December at 10:15 pm at the city police station and charged with three counts of assault and two counts of threaten death or bodily harm. It is alleged that between the 22nd of November and the 10th of December the accused has assaulted his ex-girlfriend on three separate occasions. Further, the accused threatened to kill her during two of the incidents. He is to appear in bail court this morning.

Male Arrested on Outstanding Warrant for Assault with a Weapon

20 year-old Joshua Vanatta of 343 Korah Road was arrested on the 11th of December at 1:13 am at his residence and charged with one count of assault with a weapon. It is alleged that the accused was wanted for an incident that occurred on the 23rd of November 2008 during a party at his residence. It is alleged that the accused got into an argument with a female known to him at the party and told her to leave. When the female got outside, the accused chased her and struck her in the head with a plastic shovel. The victim required medical attention at the time for injuries she received. The accused is to appear in court on the 25th of January.

Three Shoplifting Arrests

1)44 year-old Andrew Swan of #209-222 Albert Street East was charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00 yesterday afternoon at 3:45 pm at Canadian Tire after he allegedly attended at the store at 3:45 pm and stole a Master Craft socket set. He is to appear in court on the 11th of January.

2)26 year-old Mary Morine of 1046 Peoples Road was charged yesterday morning at 11:45 am with one count of theft under $5,000.000 at Zellers in the Station Mall after she allegedly attended at the store and stole some items. She is to appear in court on the 11th of January.

3)26 year-old Tyler Ames of #1505-70 East Street was charged with of two counts of theft under $5,000.00 last night at 6:38 pm at Rome’s Independent Grocers after he allegedly attended at the store and stole some meat items. He was also wanted on an outstanding warrant for a theft from Sears back on the 30th of November. He is to appear in court on the 25th of January.


Thefts

Three vehicles on Henry Street were entered sometime overnight on the 10th of December. A Canon digital camera, a Rector Machine duffle bag and books were reported stolen.
