Domestic Related Incidents A 44 year-old male was arrested by officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service at 7:11 pm on Huron Street and charged with one count of breach of a release document.
Domestic Related Incidents
A 44 year-old male was arrested by officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service at 7:11 pm on Huron Street and charged with one count of breach of a release document. It is alleged that officers found him in company of a female that he is on conditions of a peace bond not to communicate with due to a previous domestic related assault. He is to appear in bail court this morning.

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 48 year-old male at the residence of his ex-wife at 6:24 pm last night and charged him with three counts of breach of probation. It is alleged that the accused attended at the residence of his ex-wife and at the time he was on probation conditions not to communicate with her, not to attend at her residence and harass, molest or annoy her. Further he was to keep the peace and be good. He is to attend in bail court this morning.

A 17 year-old female youth was arrested by officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service at 9:00 pm last night on an outstanding warrant and charged with one count of mischief and one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 6th of December while at the Station Mall the accused assaulted her ex-boyfriend by slapping him in the face. The victim left and the accused followed him in the downtown area, grabbed his glasses from his face and bent them. The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.

Male Arrested for Breaching Curfew Conditions
Officers with the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested 30 yer-old Adam Warren of 615 Placid Avenue last night on Albion Street and charged him with one count of breach of a release order. It is alleged that police received a call at approximately 9:37 pm last night regarding an intoxicated male on Albion Street. When officers located him and ran a check on him they discovered that he was on recognizance curfew conditions to be in his residence from 9 pm to 7 am. He is to appear in bail court this morning.

Male Arrested on Outstanding Warrant
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 48 year-old Todd Petrie of #2-142 Albert Street East at 3:52 pm yesterday at the police station and charged him with one count of fail to appear for prints from the 7th of December. He is to appear in court on the 24th of January 2011.

Impaired Driving Arrest
On the 10th of December, officers on routine patrol with the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested 31 year-old Thomas Jaeger of 292 Sussex Road on Third Line West and charged him with on count of consuming over the legal limit. It is alleged that on the 10th of December at 12:45 am the accused was driving a 2003 Mazda Tribute westbound on Third Line West and was observed by officers failing to stop at the stop sign at Goulais Avenue. The vehicle turned into a driveway and officers went to speak to him. Officers suspected the accused to be under the influence of alcohol and he was given a roadside screening device. The accused registered a fail. He was subsequently arrested and is to appear in court on the 24th of January.

Shoplifting Arrest
On the 9th December at 8:30 pm officers wit the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested 72 year-old Anthony Greco of 270 St James Street at the Metro Store on Second Line West and charged him with one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged that the accused attended the Metro and was observed removing items off the shelves and conceal them in his pants. After paying for some items Mr. Greco left the store making no attempt to pay for the $45.17 worth of groceries he had concealed in his pants, and left the store. The accused then re-entered the store grabbed a bouquet of flowers and left again without paying and was arrested by security and held for police. He is to attend in court on the 17th of January 2011.

Male Charged with Careless Driving after Single Motor Vehicle Collision on Black Road
On the 9th of December at 9:05 am officers with the Sault Ste Marie Police Service responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Black Road involving a Dodge Pickup that ran off the roadway and turned over in the west ditch area. It is alleged that the driver of the truck was travelling southbound at a high rate of speed and when he attempted to pass a vehicle ahead of him he lost control. The truck fishtailed, left the roadway and turned over in the ditch. There were two occupants inside that witnesses helped out. Minor injuries were reported to one of the occupants, a passenger and minimal damage was reported to the truck. A tow truck attended to remove the vehicle form the ditch area. The driver of the truck, 49 year-old Roberto Portilla of 460 Government Road in Echo Bay, Ontario was charged with one count of careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.

Break and Enters
• On the 9th of December at 9:45 am officers received a report that a residence in the 500 block of John Street was entered overnight. They learned that at 10:22 pm on the 8h of December that the home the alarm system was activated when the occupants were inside sleeping. The suspect/s fled when alarm went off. Nothing was reported taken or damaged. No description is available.
• Occupants of a residence in the 400 block of Douglas Street awoke this morning to find that their home was entered overnight while they were sleeping. A Dell Laptop was discovered stolen.

Theft Report
A Kawasaki Mule Utility Vehicle was reported stolen from a Construction site on Second Line West. The theft occurred sometime during the past fall.
