Reminder to the Public The Sault Ste.
Reminder to the Public

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service would like to remind the public that Queen Street East between Pine Street and Gore Street will be closed on Saturday December 2nd at 6 pm for approximately 1 hour for the Santa Clause Parade. The public is also reminded that there may be disruptions in traffic in the area of Queen Street East between Pine Street and Simpson Street starting at 5 pm to allow for the lining up of participants in the parade. As always, the Sault Area Hospital can be accessed by Kohler Street.

Several people will appear in bail court this morning and they include:

1) 18-year old Eric Boulanger of 9 Lorna Drive was arrested just after midnight this morning and charged with one count of break and enter and commit an offence. It is alleged that the accused broke into White Pines High School located on Trunk Road and fled the area with some property. The accused was located with the assistance of the K-9 Unit. A Dell computer tower and a portable stereo that had been taken were also recovered.

2) A 12-year old youth was arrested yesterday morning and charged with one count of mischief under $5,000, one count of threatening to cause death or bodily harm and one count of breach of a release document. It is alleged that on the 30th of November the male youth kicked the family vehicle causing a dent and also threatened to harm the family. The accused was also on release conditions to abide by the rules of the home.

3) A 29-year old female was arrested last evening and charged with one count of mischief. It is alleged that the accused punctured two tires on her ex-boyfriend’s vehicle yesterday.

4) Officers from Investigation Services arrested 34-year old Patrick Martin of 1-130 Albert Street West last evening. It is alleged that the last two months the accused made repeated phone calls to a female known to the accused. At the time of the offence the accused was on probation with terms to keep the peace and be good. This is not a domestic related matter. The accused has been charged with one count of harassing phone calls and one count of breach of probation.

Impaired Driving

29-year old Vincent Pine of 173 White Birch Drive, Garden River was arrested just after 11 pm last night and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. It is alleged that the accused was driving a vehicle on Trunk Road and that officers observed the vehicle swerving. Officers stopped the vehicle and the accused was subsequently arrested and charged. The accused will appear in court on January 8th.

Break & Enters

City Police received three reports of break and enters in the last 24-hour period. One of them was the break and enter to White Pines High School, where one male was taken into custody and will appear in bail court this morning.

The other break and enters are:

1) Sometime overnight between the 29th of November and the 30th of November thieves broke into Esquire Honda on Great Northern Road and stole one 9 HP snow blower.

2) Yesterday between 7 am and 6:30 pm a home on Wallace Terrace was entered. A camera, some liquor, a lap top computer and some jewellery were taken.
