MAN ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT Yesterday between 8:00 and 9:00 pm, a female contacted the city police to report an assault. She advised officers that a male person known to her had grabbed and punched her while she was walking on Gore Street.

Yesterday between 8:00 and 9:00 pm, a female contacted the city police to report an assault. She advised officers that a male person known to her had grabbed and punched her while she was walking on Gore Street.

He was later located by police and arrested. Charged with Assault and two counts of Breach of Probation is David Corbiere, age 41 of 62 Wellington Street West. He will be appearing in Bail Court today at 1:30. The victim did not require medical attention for her injuries.


USING SCREWDRIVER TO START VAN
Yesterday afternoon, at 4:30 pm, city police officers were called to investigate a male person trying to start a van with a screwdriver at 524 Goulais Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers spoke to him and were informed that he had entered into a contract to purchase this van from the owner. Further investigation by officers revealed that the male had given the owner of the van a false name.

As a result, city police have charged Shawn Dunlop, age 23, of 536A Goulais Avenue Apt. #106, with Personation. He will be appearing in Court on Sept. 15th at 9:00 am.


BREAK & ENTER
Late last night thieves broke into a residence in the 100 block of Gore Street by forcing an unlocked window. Once inside the culprits stole a television and some electronic equipment.


VEHICLES ENTERED
At 12:30 this morning police were called to investigate two suspicious males going through cars in the Chapple Street and Allard Street area.

Citizens reported seeing two males going through cars and saw one male break the window of a van parked on Chapple Street. The two suspects were then seen running towards Allard Street. The culprits were gone prior to police arrival.

There was just one other report of a vehicle being entered yesterday. It took place in the 600 block of Albert Street West. Thieves stole electronic equipment and CDs from the vehicle.


CAR-BIKE COLLISION
A bicycle and a car collided at the corner of Bruce and Pim Streets yesterday evening. The car was waiting to turn left onto Bruce. The bicyclist was going south on Pim.

The light turned amber, the car started to turn and the bicycle proceeded through the caution light. The two of them collided with only minor injuries being sustained by the bike rider who was taken to hospital.

Both drivers have been charged by police.
